Made of durable material, these washers resist wear from rubbing and scraping surfaces. They create a light duty seal around fasteners to prevent fluids from leaking and damp vibration.
Buna-N rubber washers are FDA compliant for direct contact with food. They have good oil resistance, and are commonly used in applications with plant and animal fat and oil. However, Buna-N washers have a significantly lower maximum temperature rating than Aramid/Buna-N washers and ePTFE washers.

Neoprene washers have good abrasion resistance.
Viton® fluoroelastomer and fluoroelastomer washers withstand oil, chemicals, and high temperatures better than neoprene washers.

Metal-Bonded Sealing Washers
Create a stronger seal than metal or rubber alone. These one-piece washers are metal for strength with a bonded rubber seal that creates a tight grip. Made of neoprene, the seal has good oil and abrasion resistance. Washers are reusable.
Aluminum washers are lightweight and corrosion resistant in wet environments.
