Connect a tap wire to a main wire without stripping—these wire taps penetrate insulation. To install, squeeze the tap with standard pliers; a built-in U-shaped metal contact penetrates the insulation and grips the wire.

Moisture-Resistant Insulation-Piercing Wire Taps

Twist-On Insulation-Piercing Wire Taps

T-Tap

Convenient for jobs where you don't have crimpers on hand, these wire taps twist together to connect a tap wire to a main wire. The cap locks the wire into place, making them good for high-vibration applications. As you twist the cap onto the main wire, it pierces the insulation, so you don’t need to strip the wire. However, you’ll need to strip the tap wire.

Snap Plug

Parallel Tap

Tap a wire or add a finished terminal to the end of a wire. The parallel taps quickly connect to your wire without stripping the wire first. Squeeze the tap with standard pliers and the U-shaped contact pierces the insulation and grips the wire. Insert a snap plug into the parallel tap. Parallel tap and snap plug are sold separately.

Tighten screws to connect a tap wire to a main wire. For easy installation, you can lay the main wire in these taps by sliding off the screw plate.

Covers (sold separately) are plastic, so they fully insulate wire taps when connected. They snap shut for quick installation.
