About Sound Levels
Measured in decibels (dB), volume ratings indicate how much noise equipment makes. Some common volume levels include a whisper @ 20 dB, a refrigerator @ 40 dB, a conversation @ 60 dB, and a light machine shop @ 90 dB. OSHA recommends hearing protection for exposure to 80 dB and greater.
Fire-Suppressing Spray Nozzles

FM approved for use in fire-protection applications, these nozzles produce a heavy, coarse spray to quickly put out fires. They come with a protective cover to keep dust and debris from clogging the nozzle’s opening. You don’t have to remove the cover—when water starts flowing, it is blown off the nozzle.

Spray and Stream Nozzles for Fire-Fighting Hose

Twist the barrel to adjust water flow. Nozzles have a textured barrel for grip and a rubber bumper for impact resistance.
Brass nozzles are more durable than aluminum nozzles.
Diesel-Fuel Hose Nozzles

Control the flow while dispensing diesel fuel. Nozzles are aluminum, which is lightweight with good corrosion resistance.
Nozzles with automatic shut-off will stop dispensing when the tank is full or if the nozzle falls from the tank. They have a built-in check valve that reduces spillage when withdrawing the nozzle from tank. Nozzles have an angled design, which reduces hose kinking for efficient fueling. They come with a plastic scuff guard to protect the nozzle from damage.
Nozzles with manual shut-off have a trigger to stop the flow. Do not leave the nozzle unattended when in use.
Nozzles with three-position hold-open clip allow you to dispense fuel without holding the trigger.
Style A is also known as a service-station-style nozzle. The nozzle tip has a stream straightener (also known as a stream shaper), which reduces turbulence for less spillage. Attach an optional splash guard (sold separately) to protect your hands from spray.
Styles B and C are also known as truck-stop nozzles. They have higher flow rates than Style A to dispense large quantities of fuel quickly. Style C includes a splash guard to protect your hands from spray.
Use hold-open clip kits to replace a broken clip. Install with pliers.

Enclosure-Cooling Vortex Tubes with Thermostats

Set the thermostat and these vortex tubes switch on only when needed. They convert compressed air into a stream of cold air to keep electronics within enclosures from overheating while also keeping dust and other contaminants out. These vortex tubes chill compressed air by 50° F or more. They include a ducting kit to distribute cool air throughout the enclosure. All are rated NEMA 12 to resist dirt, light water splashes, and oil/coolant dripping.
Replacement filters are sold separately.

Low-Noise Enclosure-Cooling Vortex Tubes with Thermostats

Often used in low-noise environments such as labs and clean rooms, these are quieter than standard enclosure-cooling vortex tubes. Set the thermostat and the tubes switch on only when needed.
Vortex tubes with dual air outlets have a higher cooling capacity than other vortex tubes. Use them to cool large enclosures and electronics that generate significant heat. Direct the two air streams independently for targeted cooling. With two air mufflers and two ducting lines, these vortex tubes take up slightly more space in your enclosure than vortex tubes with one air outlet.
Replacement filters are sold separately.

Low-Noise Washdown Enclosure-Cooling Vortex Tubes with Thermostats
In addition to being quieter than standard enclosure-cooling vortex tubes, these stand up to washdowns and weather. They convert compressed air into a stream of cold air to keep electronics within enclosures from overheating while also keeping dust and other contaminants out. Set the thermostat and the tubes switch on only when needed. All include a ducting kit to distribute cool air throughout the enclosure and air mufflers to reduce noise. They also have an inline compressed air filter, which prevents moisture from building up inside the enclosure to further safeguard electronics.
Vortex tubes with dual air outlets have a higher cooling capacity than other vortex tubes. Use them to cool large enclosures and electronics that generate a lot of heat. Direct the two air streams independently for targeted cooling. With two air mufflers and two ducting lines, these vortex tubes take up more space than vortex tubes with one air outlet.
Vortex tubes with an electric thermostat require a 120V AC outlet. Those with an internal outlet are best for areas where external outlets are not available or where it would be unsafe to have an external electrical connection. Choose those with an external outlet if you need separate electrical connections for the thermostat and the electronics within an enclosure. Replacement filters are sold separately.

Suitable for washdown applications, these vortex tubes are NEMA rated to resist washdowns. They convert compressed air into a stream of cold air to keep electronics within enclosures from overheating while also keeping dust and other contaminants out. These vortex tubes chill compressed air by 50° F or more. They include a ducting kit to distribute cool air throughout the enclosure.
NEMA 4 rated vortex tubes resist dirt and washdowns.
NEMA 4X rated vortex tubes resist dirt, washdowns, and corrosion.
