    Plastic Spur Gears

Made of plastic, these spur gears run more quietly than metal gears and have good corrosion and chemical resistance. However, they’re not as strong as metal gears, so they’re best for light duty applications. Combine a gear and rack to convert rotary motion into linear motion.
Combine gears with different numbers of teeth to change speed and torque in your assembly. For components to mesh correctly, they must have the same pressure angle and pitch/module.

    Angle

20° Pressure Angle—The current industry standard, these 20° pressure angle spur gears have thicker, stronger teeth than 14½° pressure angle gears.
Nylon—Nylon gears are wear resistant, but will swell and weaken over time when wet.

These racks match with spur gears to convert rotary motion to linear motion. For components to mesh correctly, they must have the same pressure angle and pitch/module.
Nylon—Nylon gear racks are wear resistant, but will swell and weaken over time when wet.
Machined—Machined gear racks may be slightly bowed but will straighten out when installed.
