Ultra-Wear-Resistant 440C Stainless Steel Rods
One of the hardest types of stainless steel after heat treating, 440C offers excellent wear and abrasion resistance. It’s often used for bearings, valves, and knife blades. 440C has even more carbon than 440A, making it harder but less tough. That means 440C is more likely to break rather than bend when absorbing impact. This material maintains its corrosion resistance in temperatures up to 800° F.

Tight-Tolerance Hardened Ultra-Wear-Resistant 440C Stainless Steel Rods
With a diameter that’s held to a close tolerance, this material is hardened for increased wear and abrasion resistance. Rods are precision ground and ready for turning in your lathe.
440C is one of the hardest types of stainless steel after heat treating. It’s often used for bearings, valves, and knife blades. 440C has even more carbon than 440A, making it harder but less tough. That means 440C is more likely to break rather than bend when absorbing impact. This material maintains its corrosion resistance in temperatures up to 800° F.

Hardened Ultra-Wear-Resistant 440C Stainless Steel Balls

The best choice for high-performance bearings and valves, these 440C stainless steel balls are among the strongest, hardest, and most wear-resistant we offer. They’re passivated to wash away surface particles that cause rust, and they’re polished to a mirror-like finish that contaminants can’t stick to. The result is balls that stay smooth and stand the test of time—even at temperatures up to 800° F. They’re made to strict ISO 3290 standards for roundness and surface quality.
These balls are magnetic, so you can use them in separators, sensors, and automated handling systems that use magnetic pickup or positioning.
Grade 100—Great for mechanical applications where you don’t need the exacting tolerances of Grade 25.
