    Digital Outside Micrometers

    The simplest-to-use micrometers. Their LCD display gives instant measurements down to 0.00005”—no need to read scales. Swap between inch and metric or set the position to zero, all with the press of a button.
    You can always expect accuracy with our micrometers. The anvil and spindle are precision ground to exact dimensions for reliable readings every time.
    Starrett—Starrett micrometers come packaged in their iconic red case, so you'll be able to spot them on the busiest of bench tops.
    Calibration Certificate—Choose these micrometers when precision measurements are required for quality control or by regulation. The certificate is traceable to NIST, so you can be confident your measurements are correct and consistent.
    Friction Thimble—Control how tightly the spindle closes on your part without the risk of damaging it. You can keep extending the spindle in small increments once it reaches your workpiece but not enough to overtighten. The thimble will start to resist turning to let you know you’ve applied the right amount of pressure.
    Zero-Position Memory (ABS)—Retain the micrometer's position when turned off, so you don't need to reset the zero point each time. Also called absolute (ABS) positioning.

    Coolant-Resistant Digital Outside Micrometers

    Measure parts inside CNC machines and other places coated with coolant and cutting oil. The display and battery cover are tightly sealed, so spraying and dripping fluids won't seep in.

    Starrett Digital Precision Measuring Tool Sets

The micrometer has a friction thimble with a constant-force mechanism, so that once the spindle contacts the surface of the measured object, it will stop tightening. This ensures repeatable measurements and prevents over-tightening. Once the spindle stops tightening, the thimble will continue turning with resistance.
