Extreme-Strength AHSS Carbon Steel Round Tubes

Image of Product. Front orientation. Steel. Extreme-Strength AHSS Carbon Steel Round Tubes.
The same steel used in automobile bodies, this AHSS (advanced high-strength steel) allows you to fabricate high-strength parts using thinner material than you could with other types of steel. It is formable, weldable, and more economical than alloy steel. It's sometimes called HSLA (high-strength low-alloy) steel.

    High-Temperature 4140 Alloy Steel Rods

Image of Product. Front orientation. Steel. High-Temperature 4140 Alloy Steel Rods.
Made with vanadium, this alloy steel retains its strength at temperatures up to 1100° F. It’s hardened for increased abrasion and impact resistance. Also known as chrome-moly steel, it resists fracturing from repeated stress. These rods are used for a wide range of parts, including gears, shafts, and die holders.
Note: Rods may be made from either 4140 or 4142 alloy steel. They are interchangeable in most applications.

    Ultra-Wear-Resistant 440C Stainless Steel Bars

Image of Product. Front orientation. Stainless Steel. Ultra-Wear-Resistant 440C Stainless Steel Bars.
One of the hardest types of stainless steel after heat treating, 440C offers excellent wear and abrasion resistance. It’s often used for bearings, valves, and knife blades. 440C has even more carbon than 440A, making it harder but less tough. That means 440C is more likely to break rather than bend when absorbing impact. This material maintains its corrosion resistance in temperatures up to 800° F.
Rolled—Bars with rolled edges are also known as true bar; the edges are more precise than sheared edges.

    Threaded Rods

Anchor, connect, or hang components in a wide variety of applications, from mounting I-beams to suspending light fixtures.
    Medium-Strength Steel
Image of Product. Front orientation. Threaded Rods. Threaded Rods.
With tensile strengths from 110,000 psi to 125,000 psi, these rods are strong enough for most industrial applications, such as anchoring machinery and connecting pipe flanges. They are about twice as strong as low-strength steel rods. To avoid stripped threads during installation, make sure your nuts are also medium-strength steel.
Steel—Best for dry environments since moisture will cause these rods to rust.
