Easy-to-Machine Impact-Resistant Ductile Cast Iron Bars

- Yield Strength: 45,000 psi
- Hardness: Rockwell C10 (Medium)
- Heat Treatable: Yes
- Max. Hardness After Heat Treatment: Rockwell C50
- Specifications Met: ASTM A536
Easier to machine without cracking than other impact-resistant ductile cast iron bars, these cast iron bars contain a high amount of ferrite. Use them to make cylinder and die blocks, rotary tables, and rail spacers. These bars are also known as 65-45-12 ductile iron bars. All conduct electricity. They will become magnetic if exposed to a magnetic field. They’re often used to replace low and medium carbon steel bars.

Impact-Resistant Ductile Cast Iron Rods and Discs

- Yield Strength: 55,000 psi
- Hardness: Rockwell C20 (Hard)
- Heat Treatable: Yes
- Max. Hardness After Heat Treatment: Rockwell C60
- Specifications Met: ASTM A536
Ductile cast iron is strong, resilient, and able to handle repeated stress without breaking. It also absorbs vibration, so finished parts run quieter than those made of steel.

High-Strength Impact-Resistant Ductile Cast Iron Rods

- Yield Strength: 70,000 psi
- Hardness: Rockwell C20 (Hard)
- Heat Treatable: Yes
- Max. Hardness After Heat Treatment: Rockwell C55
- Fabrication: Cast
- Specifications Met: ASTM A536
Containing more pearlite and less ferrite, these cast iron rods are stronger and harder than standard ductile cast iron. They are resilient and able to withstand repeated stress without breaking. These rods also absorb vibration, so their finished parts run quieter than those made from steel. Use them to create bushings, gears, and pistons. To increase their wear resistance, you can harden these rods through heat treating. They have been manufactured to meet ASTM standards for quality and performance.
