Hardened Easy-to-Weld 4130 Alloy Steel Sheets

- Yield Strength: 80,000 psi
- Hardness: Rockwell C21 (Hard)
- Fabrication: See table
- Specifications Met: ASTM A506, SAE AMS2301
The surface of this 4130 alloy steel is hardened, so it resists impact and abrasion better than standard 4130 alloy steel. Also known as chrome-moly steel, it has a low carbon content for good weldability. 4130 alloy steel is often used for pressure vessels and structural supports. Easy-to-Weld 4130 Alloy Steel Rods
- Yield Strength: Not Rated
- Hardness: Rockwell C21 (Hard)
- Fabrication: See table
- Specifications Met: See table
Made from 4130 alloy steel, also known as chrome-moly steel, these rods have low carbon content for good weldability. They’re often used to make gears and bushings. The surface of these rods is hardened to make them more resistant to wear and impacts. They’re also normalized, which is a heating process that relieves internal stress and helps prevent cracking during machining or additional hardening. These rods have been manufactured to ASTM and SAE standards for quality and performance.

Ultra-Strength Fatigue-Resistant 4330 Alloy Steel

- Yield Strength: 185,000 psi
- Hardness: Rockwell C23 (Hard)
- Heat Treatable: Yes
- Max. Hardness After Heat Treatment: Rockwell C46
- Fabrication: Hot Rolled
- Specifications Met: SAE AMS2301, SAE AMS6411
Made of a chromium-nickel-molybdenum alloy and strengthened with vanadium, this steel is the strongest alloy we offer. A vacuum arc remelting (VAR) process gives 4330 alloy steel excellent strength, hardness, and fatigue resistance. It also resists cracking from impact or compression. In addition to the VAR, this steel's been normalized—a form of heat treatment that helps yield consistent results if you want to machine or heat treat it further. More heat treatment will make the surface harder and more wear resistant. These rods and discs are often used for gears, axles, and shafts. They have been manufactured to meet AMS standards for quality and performance.

Easy-to-Harden Wear-Resistant A355 Alloy Steel

- Yield Strength: 85,000 psi
- Hardness: Rockwell C23 (Hard)
- Heat Treatable: Yes
- Max. Hardness After Heat Treatment: Rockwell C67
- Fabrication: See table
- Specifications Met: See table
Also known as Nitriding 135, this steel can be hardened at lower temperatures than other heat-treatable alloys. Heat treating gives it a wear-resistant surface without making the interior brittle. It’s often used for gears, axles, and shafts. These rods have been manufactured to meet SAE standards for quality and performance.
