Enclosed Motor Switches
These switches are housed in a plastic enclosure. Since they’re already protected, you can mount them to a wall if there’s no space left in your electrical panel. You can also turn them into a handheld control and move them around your workstation by attaching a cord and cord grip. The enclosure is PBT polyester, so it won’t swell in moist environments. Easy to operate even if you’re wearing gloves, flip the toggle switch up and down. Use these switches to turn motors on and off, or with lighting and electric heat circuits. They do not provide overload protection.

Energy-Saving Motor Starters
Save electricity and extend motor life by reducing the motor's starting current. These starters gradually start and stop motors. Use them on motors where torque varies, such as pumps, compressors, and conveyors. All have an auxiliary contact to send a signal or connect to another device, such as an alarm or indicating light.

Durable Disconnect Switches
Protected by a steel enclosure, these switches withstand tougher conditions than switches in a plastic housing. Also known as safety switches, they have quick-make/quick-break action to eliminate arcing and prolong switch life. They have a lockout to secure in the off position using a padlock (not included).
Switches with safety interlock keep the door closed when the switch is on and prevent the switch from turning on when the door is open.
Switches with a fuse holder are used where overload protection is needed. When the current exceeds the fuse’s rating, the fuse will blow, interrupting the circuit to prevent the switch from overheating, breaking, or causing a fire. These switches require rejection-style fuse clips when used with UL Class RK1, RK5, or T fuses. Note: Horsepower ratings are based on time-delay fuses installed.
Switches with a viewing window let you see if the fuses have blown without opening the enclosure.

Outdoor Durable Disconnect Switches
A raintight NEMA 3R rated enclosure protects these switches from falling liquids and light splashing. The enclosure is steel, so it withstands tougher conditions than plastic enclosures. All have quick-make/quick-break action to eliminate arcing and prolong switch life. They have a lockout to secure in the off position using a padlock (not included).
Switches with safety interlock keep the door closed when the switch is on, and prevent the switch from turning on when the door is open.
Use switches with a fuse holder where overload protection is needed. When the current exceeds the rating of the fuse, it blows. This interrupts the circuit and prevents overheating, damage, and fire. When used with UL Class RK1, RK5, or T fuses, they require rejection-style fuse clips. Note: Horsepower ratings are based on time-delay fuses installed.
Switches with a viewing window let you see if the fuses have blown without having to open the enclosure.

DIN-Rail Mount Solid State Relays
Unlike mechanical relays, these solid state relays have no moving parts, so they require less maintenance and last longer, switch faster, and are quieter. They mount on 35 mm DIN rail (also known as DIN 3) for fast installation. IP20 rated, their terminals are recessed, so they prevent fingers and other objects from touching live circuits.
Relays with an integrated heat sink disperse heat to increase the relay’s current rating.

Infrequent-Cycle Relays
For use with equipment that cycles on and off, these relays meet UL 508 for air conditioning and heating. Connections are accessible from the front, so you can mount relays side-by-side. Also known as definite-purpose contactors.
Enclosures (sold separately) are NEMA 1 rated to protect contacts from corrosion.
Also Available: Auxiliary contacts for 3.8"-7.2" Ht. relays. They allow you to add a signaling device or control another relay. Please select 6564K99, then select the McMaster-Carr part number of your relay and whether you want to switch one circuit on (1 Normally Open) or off (1 Normally Closed).
