Replace the hinges on access doors or machine guards with these switches to keep your team safe from active machinery. Also known as interlock switches, they automatically shut off power to your machinery when the door or guard opens. They can be mounted on flat frames or aluminum T-slotted framing. Also known as interlock switches, these ensure the safety of personnel by automatically shutting off power to machinery when an access door opens. Mount the switch to the door frame and mount a key to the door so that the key is inserted into the switch when the door is closed. When the door opens, the key is removed from the switch and the machine shuts down. They’re often used with machine guards for large robots.

All switches require an actuator key, but not all include one—check whether you need to pick out a separate actuator key. For some switch styles, you can also select the mounting orientation of the key. Flexible keys pivot at least 15°, making them easier to align with switches during installation.

Style A-G switches have positive-force, normally closed contacts that will open a circuit when the switch is actuated even if a spring fails or the contacts stick.

These switches actuate when a magnet comes within sensing distance, and reset when the magnet moves away. They’re often used to detect when a door or window opens. Mount the switch in a stationary position, such as a door frame, and mount the magnet to a movable object, such as the door. They do not include a safety relay and cannot be used with safety-guard doors found on machinery.

NEMA 6 rated switches are protected from temporary submersion. IP67 rated switches protect against temporary submersion, as well as dust and dirt.

Prevent motors and other equipment from overheating or failing from not having enough voltage. When the supply voltage falls below 35% of the rated voltage, these switches will automatically turn off to protect the circuit from undervoltage. Once the power is cut, they'll keep it isolated to prevent accidental startups during inspection and maintenance.

To prevent unauthorized use of these switches, you can lock them out with a padlock (not included). Even if a padlock blocks them from physically turning off, they’ll disconnect power to the actuator if voltage falls below a safe level.

Unlike mechanical relays, these solid state relays have no moving parts, so they require less maintenance and last longer, switch faster, and are quieter. They mount on 35 mm DIN rail (also known as DIN 3) for fast installation. An LED indicator lights up when these relays are connected, so you can quickly confirm that they’re wired correctly. IP20 rated, their terminals are recessed, so they prevent fingers and other objects from touching live circuits.
