Ball Joint Rod Ends

Made of steel, these rod ends generally handle higher loads than stainless steel, aluminum, and nylon rod ends. They don’t come lubricated, so you’ll need to lubricate during installation and on an ongoing basis.
Zinc-plated steel rod ends provide moderate corrosion resistance.

Internally Threaded Ultra-Precision Ball Joint Rod Ends

Made to extremely tight tolerances, these rod ends are for applications that require positioning accuracy, such as accelerators and other types of control linkages. Rod ends are steel and generally handle higher loads than stainless steel, aluminum, and nylon rod ends. They have a heat-treated steel ball for added strength and a brass insert for smooth operation. They come lubricated, so you won't need to lubricate them at installation. They will require ongoing lubrication.

Corrosion-Resistant Ball Joint Rod Ends

Made of stainless steel, these rod ends provide excellent corrosion resistance. A PTFE liner allows smooth ball rotation and eliminates the need for lubrication.

Corrosion-Resistant Fully Threaded Rod End Bolts

These rod end bolts are good for wet and corrosive environments—for maximum mounting flexibility, cut the fully threaded shaft to whatever length you need. Also known as swing bolts and eyebolts, rod end bolts have no moving parts. They're designed to make pivoting or hinge movements in applications that don't need to compensate for misalignment.
Brass rod end bolts resist corrosion in humid and wet environments, but not as well as stainless steel bolts. They're also not as strong. Often, brass bolts are chosen for their look, or to match other components, such as hinges.
303 and 304 stainless steel rod end bolts won't rust in humid, wet, and washdown environments. They're stronger than brass bolts and nearly as strong as steel. They will rust when exposed to salt water and chemicals, however. Black-oxide 303 stainless steel rod end bolts have a matte-black finish that adds some corrosion resistance but is mostly chosen for its looks.
316 stainless steel rod end bolts are our most corrosion resistant, and they're nearly as strong as steel rod end bolts. Use them in areas with salt water, chlorine, and chemicals without worrying about rust.
ASTM rod end bolts meet a standard for material.

Precision Single U-Joints

A good choice when you need accurate and repeatable motion, these U-joints have zero backlash (no play), so there’s no motion lost when your shafts change direction. This keeps machines running smoothly. They’re single U-joints, so they connect and transfer torque between shafts that are misaligned at an angle.
Your shafts’ misalignment will affect the speed and torque the U-joint will be able to transmit. The more the shafts are misaligned, the less speed and torque the U-joint will be able to transmit.
Ball-bearing U-joints operate with less friction than pin-and-block joints, so they run at higher speeds. 303 stainless steel U-joints balance strength with good corrosion resistance.
U-joints that connect with set screws don’t require you to drill any holes.U-joints that don’t require lubrication are often used with optical devices and other sensitive equipment because they're less likely to attract dust and debris compared to lubricated U-joints. They’re also easier to maintain.

Precision Double U-Joints

Since these U-joints have zero backlash (no play), there’s no motion lost when your shafts change direction, so machines move smoothly with more accurate, repeatable motion. As double U-joints, they connect and transfer torque between two shafts that are either parallel to each other or are misaligned at an angle. They also keep parallel shafts moving in sync by making the output shaft move at the same rate as the input shaft. And because their ball bearings operate with less friction than pin-and-block joints, they run at higher speeds. Made of stainless steel, these U-joints balance strength with good corrosion resistance.
They come lubricated, so you won’t need to lubricate them during installation. Connect them to shafts using the included set screws. Unlike U-joints that use spring pins, there’s no drilling required.
Your shafts’ misalignment will affect the speed and torque the U-joint will be able to transmit. The more the shafts are misaligned, the less speed and torque the U-joint will be able to transmit.
