Apply higher torque than other screws can handle when driving into soft metals such as brass, aluminum, and bronze. These screws have a hex head that turns with a nutdriver or socket. Also known as Taptite®, their tri-lobular shank presses threads into material for a tight fit that resists vibration. An unthreaded lead-in point starts threads cleanly and keeps the screw aligned in the hole. The flange under the head spreads the load to prevent crushing thin material.
