Keep a variety of welding lug sizes on hand. Either solder these welding lugs into place, or use a hammer-on crimper (not included) for a secure connection.

Keep multiple sizes of wire taps on hand to tap any wiring in your facility. With a tighter grip than other insulation-piercing options, these taps secure connections around motors and other rattling or jolting equipment. Twist the cap to lock the tap onto the main wire. The tap will bite through the insulation to establish a connection. Next, strip your tap wire and thread it into the tap to draw power and create a new circuit.

These assortments include the set screw lugs, nuts, and bolts needed for single-phase and three-phase dry-type transformers (transformers that dissipate heat without using liquid).

Set screw lugs are easier to install than compression lugs, and they can be reused because you don't crush the barrel to attach the wire. They don't hold the wire as securely as compression lugs, however—use them when pulling and bending aren't a concern and you need to easily break your connection for maintenance or adjustments.
