    Ring Terminals

    Noninsulated

Secure wire to screw connections without worrying it will pop off. A go-to for terminal blocks, batteries, and circuit breaker panels, ring terminals encircle the whole screw shank, so they stay put better than spade and hook terminals when vibrated or pulled. They take a bit longer to install, however, because you have to completely remove the screw. Attach your wire with a crimping tool to avoid a damaged barrel and loose connection.
Noninsulated—The basic, economical option when short circuits from nearby wiring aren't a concern.

    Spade Terminals

    Noninsulated

Save time when installing lots of terminals at once or adjusting a connection. Unlike ring terminals, spade terminals don't require you to remove the screw from the terminal block or other connection point. Just loosen the screw slightly, slide the terminal under the screw head, and tighten. Since ring and hook terminals hold a bit more securely, spade terminals work best when vibration and yanked wires aren't a concern. Attach your wire with a crimping tool to avoid a damaged barrel and loose connection.
