These lugs attach to even larger wire than compression lugs, such as the 1000 MCM building wire used in large factories. They're also easier to install and reusable because you cinch the wire with a set screw rather than crushing the barrel. They don't hold the wire as securely as compression lugs, however—use them when pulling and bending aren't a concern and you need to easily break your connection for maintenance or adjustments.

    Finish-Your-Own Compression Lugs

Image of Product. Front orientation. Terminals, Ferrules, and Lugs. Finish-Your-Own Compression Lugs.
With no predrilled mounting holes, these lugs are your go-to if you don’t know your screw distances yet, or if you’re using nonstandard screw sizes. Just drill holes where you need them and install with whatever screws work best for your application. Squeeze the barrel onto the wire with a compression tool for a permanent connection that stands up to heavy vibration, sudden shocks, and daily wear and tear. Compression lugs are a step up from set screw lugs when you need a physically strong connection, though set screw lugs attach to even larger wire.
Double Crimp—The choice for wire that’s frequently pulled, bent, or vibrated. Crimp the extended barrel in two places for an extra-strong grip on the wire.

    Compression Lugs

These lugs connect wire as large as 500 MCM in industrial feeder circuits, high-power service entrances, and other large systems. Squeeze the barrel tightly and evenly onto the wire with a compression tool for a permanent connection that stands up to heavy vibration, sudden shocks, and daily wear and tear. Compression lugs are a step up from set screw lugs when you need a physically strong connection, though set screw lugs attach to even larger wire.
Single Crimp—Provides a secure enough grip for most jobs.
Double Crimp—The choice for wire that’s frequently pulled, bent, or vibrated. Crimp the extended barrel in two places for an extra-strong grip on the wire.

    Box Lugs

Image of Product. Front orientation. Terminals, Ferrules, and Lugs. Box Lugs.
These lugs are designed to slide onto grounding or neutral bars in electrical panels. They're often relied on for control panel connections, where a secure hold on the wire helps prevent loose connections, overheating, and other interruptions. To install, insert your wire then clamp it down with the set screw onto the metal bar.

    Heat-Shrink Locking Spade Terminals

Image of Product. Front orientation. Terminals, Ferrules, and Lugs. Heat-Shrink Locking Spade Terminals.
The plastic insulation shrinks when heated to grip and seal the wire more tightly than other locking spade terminals. In addition to sealing out contaminants, the heat shrink distributes strain when the wire is pulled or under tension for long periods.
Flanged spade terminals are the easiest spade terminals to connect. The two forks slide past the screw then snap onto the shank, keeping the terminal aligned and secure without your help during installation. Attach your wire with a crimping tool to avoid a damaged barrel and loose connection.
Polyolefin Insulation—The durable plastic prevents short circuits and maintains a tight seal on the wire when exposed to high temperatures, heavy vibration, and long-term wear and tear from maintenance and adjustment.

    Slotted Compression Lugs

Image of Product. Front orientation. Terminals, Ferrules, and Lugs. Slotted Compression Lugs.
An easy fix when your screw spacing is uncertain or inconsistent. One of the mounting holes on these lugs is actually a long slot, so your screws can be close or farther apart and they’ll still fit.

Only the base with the screw hole attaches to the surface. The rest of the lug extends vertically, so you can insert or adjust the wire without your tools snagging on other connectors or components.
Set screw lugs attach to even larger wire than compression lugs, such as the 1000 MCM building wire used in large factories. They're also easier to install and reusable because you cinch the wire with a set screw rather than crushing the barrel. They don't hold the wire as securely as compression lugs, however—use them when pulling and bending aren't a concern and you need to easily break your connection for maintenance or adjustments.

    Heat-Shrink Spade Terminals

Image of Product. Front orientation. Terminals, Ferrules, and Lugs. Heat-Shrink Spade Terminals.
Speed up installation without sacrificing protection for your wire. The spade slides right under the screw head while the heat-shrink plastic shields the wire from cuts, moisture, and dust to prevent short circuits and weakened connections. The seal also distributes strain evenly when the wire is bent or under tension, preventing the wire from fraying. When attaching your wire, use a crimping tool to avoid a damaged barrel and loose connection. Then apply heat to seal the plastic onto the wire from all sides.
Polyolefin Insulation—The durable plastic prevents short circuits and maintains a tight seal on the wire when exposed to high temperatures, heavy vibration, and long-term wear and tear from maintenance and adjustment.
