Thermally Conductive High-Temperature Silicone Foam Sheets
Protect sensitive equipment from heat buildup with this silicone foam. These sheets are commonly used to fill gaps and damp vibration in computers, battery installations, and heat pipe assemblies. This foam has closed-cell construction, which restricts water, air, and gases from being absorbed. They have a crisscross texture that provides a nonslip gripping surface.

Static-Control Chemical-Resistant Polyethylene Foam Sheets
Protect electronic components from electrostatic shocks and chemicals while safeguarding them from bumps and drops during shipping and storing. This closed-cell polyethylene foam is more chemical and puncture resistant than open-cell polyurethane foam, but is not as impact resistant. It’s also great for insulating items from external temperatures. The closed-cell construction means it won’t absorb water, air, and gases.
Conductive foam safely diverts static charges away from parts, and does not generate static electricity. Containing carbon, it keeps its conductive properties, so it’s reusable and good for long-term storing applications.

Static-Control Super-Cushioning Polyurethane Foam Sheets
Cushion electronic components from impact as you protect them from electrostatic shocks during shipping and storing. This open-cell polyurethane foam withstands more impact than closed-cell polyethylene foam, but is not as good for insulating items from external temperatures. The open-cell construction also means water, air, and gases can be absorbed.
Conductive foam safely diverts static charges away from parts, and does not generate static electricity. Containing carbon, it keeps its conductive properties, so it’s reusable and good for long-term storing applications.

EMI/RFI Shielding Gaskets
These gaskets absorb electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) to prevent inaccurate signals, flickering displays, and other electrical problems. They compress to fill gaps and complete a grounding path around doors and access panels.
Sheets work well between two flat surfaces.
Half-round gaskets work well in grooves. Use a gasket slightly thicker than the depth of the groove; it will compress to fill the gap.
P-shaped gaskets fit around doors and corners. Attach them with the nonconductive adhesive or add bolts or screws through the flange for extra security.
Adhesive-back gaskets are wrapped with conductive aluminum foil and stick on with a conductive adhesive. Polyurethane foam gaskets are covered with either a conductive nickel/copper braided fabric or conductive aluminum foil. A nonconductive adhesive holds them in place. To protect sensitive equipment, they block at least twice as much interference as urethane foam gaskets. Cut these gaskets to length with scissors.
Gaskets that meet UL 94 V-0 self-extinguish within 10 seconds if they catch fire and won’t spread the fire by dripping.

Porous Conductive Carbon
- Color: Gray
- Max. Temperature: 600° F
- Tensile Strength: See table
- Electrical Properties: Conductive
- Surface Resistivity: See table
Often used in filtering, this brittle, glass-like carbon has pores that allow fluid and air to flow through. Its low surface resistivity also makes it a good electrical conductor. This material is also temperature and chemical resistant.

High-Temperature Acid-Resistant Silicon-Carbide Ceramic Foam
- Color: Gray
- Maximum Temperature: 3,000° F
- Compressive Strength: 200 psi
A silicon carbide coating over a carbon foam base combines the hardness, chemical resistance, and high temperatures silicon carbide is known for with the lightweight versaitility of foam. It’s often used for cores in composite layers and to filter molten metal and corrosive liquids.
The silicon carbide coating acts as a thermal conductor, transferring heat to quickly cool liquids that pass through. Known for its hardness, silicon carbide won’t break down from repeated abrasion. However, because it’s so hard, this material is more brittle than plain carbon foam and less impact resistant than balsa wood, PET, and PVC foam cores.
Acids and bases can’t penetrate the silicon carbide coating, even at high temperatures. Instead, contaminants stick to the surface, making it a great filter for corrosive liquids and environmental pollutants such as exhaust. If using this material as a filter, choose a foam with more pores per inch for a slower flow rate, and a foam with fewer pores per inch for a faster flow rate.
If you cut this material, the underlying carbon foam is exposed. Carbon foam does not have the temperature range and chemical resistance of its silicon carbide coating, so it will break down more quickly at exposed points.
