Material Holders for High-Vacuum Thin Film Coatings

Hold and heat coating material to extremely high temperatures for use in high-vacuum thin film coating processes. Also known as physical vapor deposition (PVD), thin film coating creates micron-thin, consistently smooth finishes on knobs, mirrors, and other objects.
These holders are designed for use with metal coating hooks and pellets. Hang a hook of coating material on a wire coil or place pellets of material in a basket or in a bowl. Bowls with flat end plates and wire coil baskets with crucible direct the vaporized particles upward.
A holder's material and thickness determine the amount of electricity required to heat it. In general, the thicker the holder, the greater the amount of electricity needed to heat it. As a reference, required current describes what is necessary to heat these holders to a given temperature. Exact values will depend on your application.
