Protect threads from debris and leaks—these inserts have a closed end as a barrier. Use them to add threads into soft metals, such as aluminum, or to replace existing threads that have rusted out or deformed. Their 18-8 stainless steel construction resists corrosion from mild chemicals and water. Comparable to Keensert® inserts, they form a strong hold both in your material and onto fasteners. Because the keys drive into the surrounding material, they’re more secure than thread-locking inserts. They’re made in the U.S. with highly precise threads and tight tolerances to meet the strict standards for MIL-I-45914.
Installation requires a drill bit, a standard tap, an installation tool, and a hammer.
Inserts with a thin wall are often used in tight spots on your workpiece.
Inserts with a thick wall are your best bet for larger holes, such as those left after drilling out your damaged threads.
