    Threaded Rods

Image of Product. Front orientation. Threaded Rods. Threaded Rods.
Anchor, connect, or hang components in a wide variety of applications, from mounting I-beams to suspending light fixtures.
    Low-Strength Steel
With a tensile strength of 50,000 psi or 60,000 psi, these rods are often used to suspend light fixtures, cable trays, and conduit from ceilings. They're about half the strength of medium-strength steel rods. To avoid stripped threads during installation, make sure your nuts are also low-strength steel.
Zinc-Plated Steel—The most common choice for areas with occasional exposure to moisture.
Steel—Best for dry environments since moisture will cause these rods to rust.

    Stainless Steel
More corrosion resistant than steel rods and comparable in strength to low-strength steel.
18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these rods resist rust. However, they won't hold up to the harsh chemicals that 316 stainless steel can.
Highly Corrosion-Resistant 316 Stainless Steel—Superior to 18-8 stainless steel, these rods won't degrade when exposed to harsh weather, salt water, and most chemicals.

Male Heat-Set Threaded Inserts for Plastic

Image of Product. Front orientation. Threaded Inserts. Male Heat-Set Threaded Inserts for Plastic.
Mount components directly to plastic parts. The male threaded rod on these inserts creates an attachment point. Heat them on a hot plate and press the knurled end into a straight hole. The heat melts the surrounding plastic and as it cools, it hardens around the knurls.
Brass—Conductive and nonmagnetic, these inserts are useful for electrical applications. They resist moisture but aren't as strong as steel inserts.

Brass—With a warm, polished look, these nuts are often chosen for their appearance. Similar to 18-8 stainless steel, brass is corrosion resistant enough to stand up to wet environments. It is also softer than other metals, so it's easier to thread together.

    Inch-to-Inch Female Hex Thread Adapters

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Thread Adapters. Inch-to-Inch Female Hex Thread Adapters.
Image of Attribute. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Thread Adapters. Inch-to-Inch Female Hex Thread Adapters.
Connect two differently sized male-threaded parts, such as threaded rods, and tighten with a standard wrench. The threads on these adapters have various sizes and spacing, so you can increase or decrease thread size or adapt from coarse to fine threading. You can also use them to change the gender of a connection from male to female. Small adapters can work as threaded standoffs, which position and separate circuit boards and other components in assemblies.
Black-Oxide Steel—Black-oxide steel adapters have a finish that won’t chip or rub off. They match the aesthetics of many systems and resists rust in indoor and dry environments.
Zinc-Plated Steel—Zinc-plated steel adapters resist corrosion until the plating wears away and are often used in dry environments.
Aluminum—Aluminum adapters are about one third of the weight of steel adapters and resist corrosion in wet environments.
18-8 Stainless Steel—18-8 stainless steel adapters withstand wet environments but will corrode when exposed to salt water and other chloride solutions.
316 Stainless Steel—316 stainless steel adapters are ideal in wet environments and will not corrode when exposed to salt water or harsh chemicals.
ASTM A108, ASTM A276, ASTM A582, and ASTM B633—Adapters that meet ASTM specifications are made from or plated with materials that adhere to specific standards for chemical and physical properties, such as hardness.

Stack male-threaded components and create a clean, flush connection between them. To securely tighten standoffs, grip the flat sides of the hex body with a wrench.
Corrosion-Resistant 18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these standoffs resist rusting. They're strong enough for most jobs, but won't withstand stress as well as steel.
Zinc-Plated Carbon Steel—Best for dry environments since moisture will cause these standoffs to rust.
Lightweight Aluminum—One-third the weight of steel, these standoffs are commonly used in applications with weight limitations. They resist rust as well as stainless steel, but they're not as strong.
Zinc-Plated Brass—Typically chosen for their warm, polished look, these standoffs are suitable for outdoor, low-stress applications. The zinc plating resists corrosion, but brass is softer than other metals, so these standoffs may deform under high stress.

Adapt threaded rods from inch to metric. These adapters connect two male-threaded fasteners, so you can change the gender of a mating part or increase or decrease its thread size. The hex-shaped body fits into the head of a standard wrench. Small adapters can also be used as standoffs, positioning and separating circuit boards and other components in assemblies.
Black-Oxide Steel—Choose black-oxide steel adapters to match the aesthetics of your system or for their mild corrosion resistance. The finish won't chip or rub off. They resist rust in indoor and dry environments, but avoid using them in corrosive environments.
Zinc-Plated Steel—Zinc-plated steel adapters are a good option in dry environments. The zinc plating prevents the steel from corroding until the plating wears away.
Aluminum—At about a third of the weight of steel adapters, aluminum adapters are the lightest we offer. They resist corrosion in wet environments.
18-8 Stainless Steel—18-8 stainless steel adapters resist corrosion caused by water. They're good for wet and damp environments but will corrode when exposed to salt water and other chloride solutions.
ASTM A108, ASTM A582, and ASTM B633—Adapters that meet ASTM specifications are made from or plated with materials that adhere to specific standards for chemical and physical properties, such as hardness.

Lightweight, nonconductive, and naturally rust-resistant. Screw these standoffs onto panels and equipment covers to separate, position and connect components. To securely tighten standoffs, grip the flat sides of the hex body with a wrench.
Nylon 6/6—Lightweight and stand up to daily wear and tear. Nylon swells and weakens when exposed to moisture, so these standoffs are best for dry environments.
