Drain-Cleaning Gloves
Protect your hands from cuts and friction burns while using electric drain cleaners. These gloves resist water and oil and have a textured grip, so you can handle cable without it slipping. They’re also known as ugly gloves.
PVC and nylon gloves have PVC chips on the front for added grip. The chips create enough friction to help you grasp wet cables but are smooth enough to let you feed them easily. These gloves also have a PVC nitrile blend coating that resists liquids. They’re more flexible than leather gloves. Nylon gloves meet ANSI/ISEA 105 and EN 388 standards for cut, abrasion, tear, and puncture resistance.
Leather gloves have steel dashes on the palm to protect against abrasion when handling cables. The dashes are angled diagonally—in the direction you’ll feed the cable—so they won’t disrupt its movement. Leather gloves are not as flexible as PVC or nylon gloves.
