Fixed Vacuum—Fixed lifters operate at a set vacuum level, so they’re good for handling small parts of similar size, weight, and material. When perfectly sealed, their vacuum level is 10 in. of Hg. This may be too strong for very delicate material such as thin plastic film.

Adjustable Vacuum—Adjustable lifters have a knob to change the vacuum level. Adjust the vacuum level to just below atmospheric pressure to lift extremely delicate items, such as a thin piece of foil or film strip. Raise the vacuum level up to 10 in. of Hg to lift bolts, shims, and other heavier items. To reduce energy consumption, these lifters have an automatic on/off function that starts the vacuum when you pick up the pen from its holder and stops it when you put the pen back in. A bar graph display shows real-time vacuum levels to confirm an effective seal. These lifters are designed to limit shedding, so they’re rated for use in ISO Class 5 clean rooms.
