How to Identify and Measure Fittings
Pipe size is an industry designation, not the actual size. View information about how to measure threaded and unthreaded pipe and pipe fittings.

Impact-Resistant Thread-Lock Quick-Disconnect
Hose Couplings for Hydraulic Fluid

Made of brass with a steel wing nut, these couplings are tough enough to handle occasional drops to concrete and frequent connections on dump truck, oil rigs, and other heavy duty equipment. Compared to push-to-connect couplings, these are threaded, so they're easier to connect when there's pressure in your line. The threads engage as you tighten the coupling, overcoming the pressure gradually rather than all at once. To limit fluid loss when you connect and disconnect them, they both have flat faces for a close fit, as well as shut-off valves that stop flow. This is why they’re known as flush-face and double shut-off couplings.
A complete coupling consists of a plug and socket (both sold separately). Sometimes referred to as wing-style couplings, the socket has a wing nut that makes it easy to tighten and loosen these couplings by hand. Make sure to thread the socket until it's covering the O-ring on the outside of the plug.
Note: To ensure a correct fit, make sure that the plug and socket have the same coupling size. Pressure ratings are given for static (constant) pressure conditions.
Warning: Stop the flow before you disconnect the line.
