    Use one of these thimbles to support a wire rope loop and prevent it from fraying. They are also known as thin pattern thimbles.
    Warning: Do not use with coated rope unless the coating is removed.
    Zinc-Plated Steel—Zinc-plated steel thimbles are mildly corrosion resistant.
    18-8 Stainless Steel—18-8 stainless steel thimbles are more corrosion resistant to chemicals than steel thimbles.
