Solder-Loaded Heat-Shrink Crimp-On Butt Splices

The most secure, electrically conductive, and environmentally sealed connection we offer, these splices have enclosed solder and an adhesive-lined insulation that melt when heat is applied. The insulation shrinks and bonds to wire, protecting it from water and corrosion.

Solder-Loaded Heat-Shrink Reducing Crimp-On Butt Splices

Create a water- and corrosion-resistant seal while connecting two different sizes of wire. When these splices are heated, the solder inside melts and the adhesive liner shrinks and bonds to form the seal. Because of this seal, these splices are the most secure, electrically conductive splices we offer that connect two different sizes of wire. All have a stripe on the smaller end that’s a different color than the body, so you can easily match your wire to the right connector.

Heat-Shrink Reducing Crimp-On Butt Splices with Inspection Window

Check to make sure you’ve made a secure connection between two different sizes of wire with the inspection window on these splices. When heated, their adhesive-lined insulation shrinks and bonds to wires, creating a water- and corrosion-resistant seal. They have colored stripes to help differentiate end sizes, so you can easily match your wire to the right end.

Heat-Shrink Reducing Crimp-On Butt Splices

When heat is applied, adhesive-lined insulation shrinks and bonds to the wires, creating a watertight seal. Use these splices to connect two wires of different sizes—one end of the splice is larger than the other. They are color-coded according to the larger wire gauge size and have a colored stripe to indicate the size of the smaller end.

Harsh-Environment Screw-Down Butt Splices

Join wires and cables in some of the dirtiest and wettest locations—from paper mills to marine environments—without special tools. With a nylon body and gasketed end caps, these splices are IP68 rated to seal out dust and water even if briefly submersed. To install, insert wire into either side, tighten the screws with a slotted screwdriver, and twist on the end caps to seal. They have multiple terminals, so you can repair, extend, and reconfigure cables with multiple wires.

Twist-On No-Crimp Butt Splices

Insert wires and twist on the threaded end caps. The caps lock wires into place, making these splices a good choice for high-vibration applications. Convenient for field installation, they allow you to install wire quickly without the need for crimping tools.

Solder-Loaded Heat-Shrink No-Crimp Butt Splices

With a ring of solder on the inside, these heat-shrink splices create secure, water-resistant connections between wires without the need for a crimping tool. Instead, heat the splice with a heat gun or butane torch to shrink the tubing, seal the connection, and liquefy the solder.
Because they use solder, these splices make more reliable connections than crimp-on splices. The melted solder fills the gaps between the wires' strands to make the electrical connection. Made of a tin-bismuth alloy, it's safe to use where lead is prohibited. It has a lower melting point than lead, so you're less likely to melt the heat-shrink tubing before melting the solder.
A layer of hot-melt adhesive lines the inside of the heat-shrink tubing to prevent the wires from pulling apart. The adhesive also seals the connection, blocking out water, dust, and other contaminants that can corrode the wire and cause a short.
To help with identification, each size has a different color. All are UL recognized for use with other components in an electrical system. When used with other UL recognized components, such as wires of the correct gauge, they can be part of a UL listed final product.

Clamp-On Wire Splicing Connectors

Quickly connect wires without crimping or twisting. When you press the clamp down, your wire is locked in and can’t be pulled out. Lift up the clamp to remove your wire. Because they're reusable, these connectors are great for temporary wiring during testing and prototyping. You can also use them to connect wires in an outlet box.
Clear connectors let you see that the wire is inserted properly and stripped to the correct length. They have two test slots—one on the front and one on the back—to test voltage even after the connectors are installed.
Use a DIN rail adapter (sold separately) to mount these connectors to a 35 mm DIN rail in a control cabinet.
Covers (sold separately) are lined with a sticky gel that seals water out. Unlike a potting compound, you don’t need to mix or pour the gel before you install these covers. They’re rated IP08, so you can use them in junction boxes exposed to rain, splashing, and humidity. If you have to expand or repair a circuit, you can open these covers and use the wires again. However, once you open the cover and remove the gel, you’ll need a new connector and cover.
