Paint markers work well even on dirty, rusty, wet, and oily surfaces. They leave textured marks you can feel with your hand.
Ink markers work best on a clean, dry surface. Marks dry faster than paint and are smooth to the touch.

Food Industry Ink Markers
Mark storage containers, processing equipment, and other surfaces in your food plant without risking contamination. These markers work best on clean, dry surfaces. The wider a marker’s stroke width, the larger and bolder its markings will be.
FDA-compliant markers have a plastic body or cap that's approved for direct contact with food. To comply with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs, they contain metal and chemical additives, so they’ll be picked up by metal detectors or X-ray machines if they fall in your line. Markers with a retractable tip don’t have a cap, so they have one fewer piece that could fall into food.

Metal- and X-Ray Detectable Any-Angle Ink Pens

Bright blue in color, they’re easy to find and retrieve. They help you comply with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs to make sure contaminated food doesn’t leave your plant. They’re also FDA compliant for direct contact with food.
These pens have pressurized ink, so you can write at any angle, even upside down. They also work on wet, greasy, and powdery surfaces, as well as in extremely hot and cold environments.

Metal- and X-Ray Detectable Plastic Write-On Tags
Label devices, machines, and other equipment around your food processing plant while reducing the risk of contaminating the food. They help you comply with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs for food safety. Available in a variety of colors, they also help you follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)—use one color for each line or area of your plant to reduce the chance of cross contamination. All of these tags are FDA compliant for direct contact with food.
Made of polypropylene, these tags withstand high-temperature washdowns and chemicals used for cleaning. Write on them with markers that are for use in the food industry or laser engrave them. A large hole makes these tags easy to hang.
