Pipe size is an industry designation, not the actual size. View information about how to measure threaded and unthreaded pipe and pipe fittings.
More
Connect these fittings to Schedule 80 pipe–they have thicker, stronger walls than standard-wall fittings so they can handle heavy duty industrial plumbing and water supply applications, such as water processing, waste water treatment, and irrigation. Fittings are plastic for good corrosion resistance. They meet ASTM D1784 specifications and testing requirements for material quality.
Fittings for drinking water meet NSF/ANSI Standard 61.
Attach socket-connect ends to unthreaded pipe or another socket-connect fitting with a PVC primer and cement (also known as solvent weld).
To prevent leaks in threaded connections, apply a sealant to the male threads. For plastic threads, apply a non-hardening, plastic-compatible sealant. Tape or sealants with PTFE are not recommended for plastic-to-plastic connections. Note: For fittings that are not rated for pressure, you can use the pressure rating of the plastic pipe as a reference. Threaded fittings are limited to 50% of the rated pressure of the pipe.
Warning: Never use plastic pipe fittings and pipe with compressed air or gas.

Through-wall fittings are also known as bulkhead couplings and panel-mount couplings; they mount through a wall, tank, or panel to create an inlet or outlet for faucets, pipes, and spigots.

Through-wall fittings are also known as bulkhead couplings and panel-mount couplings; they mount through a wall, tank, or panel to create an inlet or outlet for faucets, pipes, and spigots. Through-wall fittings with intermittent swivel are also known as self-aligning fittings; they rotate to compensate for misaligned and angled connections.

Fittings with a compression end create a seal using a gasket and nut instead of cement or thread sealant, so they're quicker to install than socket-connect and threaded fittings. Insert the pipe and turn the end nuts until hand tight—the nuts compress the gasket against the pipe for a leak-resistant seal. This type of connection absorbs vibration and provides flexibility to reduce stress on your line.
Through-wall fittings are also known as bulkhead couplings and panel-mount couplings; they mount through a wall, tank, or panel to create an inlet or outlet for faucets, pipes, and spigots.

An all-brass body gives these quick-disconnect couplings better durability than plastic quick-disconnect couplings. They have a chrome plating for excellent protection in corrosive environments. Couplings consist of a plug and a socket that join with a latch, so you can easily connect and disconnect your line. To connect, insert the plug into the socket; to disconnect, press the latch and remove the plug.
Plugs and sockets with shut-off have a valve to stop the flow when the coupling is separated, so air won’t leak from your line.

Compression plugs and sockets have a sleeve (ferrule) that compresses the tubing and forms a seal when you tighten the nut.
Through-wall sockets are also known as bulkhead sockets and panel mount sockets; they mount through your wall or panel to create an inlet or outlet.
