    Reamers

    Enlarge holes to exact inch, metric, wire gauge, or letter sizes. Reamers also smooth the walls of holes. Note: Never rotate the reamer in the reverse direction of the cut. This will ruin its accuracy.

    Round Shank
    The most common shank type, it fits in the chuck of drill presses, turret lathes, and other machine and power tools. Also known as chucking reamers.
    Use high-speed steel reamers for general purpose reaming on a wide variety of materials.
    Cobalt steel reamers offer better heat and abrasion resistance than high-speed steel reamers to run up to 25% faster for a longer tool life. They're commonly used on hard-to-machine materials such as nickel alloys, stainless steel, and titanium.
    Carbide reamers are harder, stronger, and more wear resistant than carbide-tipped reamers for the highest accuracy. Use on hard and abrasive materials such as cast iron, nonferrous alloys, plastic, and hardened steel. Not for use with hand-held tools, they require rigid tool holding to prevent breakage.

    Undersized/Oversized Reamer Sets

    Create a tighter or looser fit than the standard fractional size with reamers that are under- or oversized by 0.001" in diameter. These sets include a variety of reamer sizes for enlarging and smoothing holes. Note: Never rotate the reamer in the reverse direction of the cut. This will ruin its accuracy.
