About twice as strong as aluminum rivet nuts, these steel rivet nuts are zinc yellow-chromate plated for corrosion resistance. A ribbed body holds the nut in place so it won't turn when tightening a screw. Also known as blind inserts, they can be installed when you have access to only one side of the material. Install in a drilled hole using a rivet nut tool. The tool collapses the nut, creating a backside flange that holds the nut to the material. Length is measured from under the flange. Installed length is the maximum length of the barrel when installed.

These steel low-profile rivet nuts are about twice as strong as aluminum rivet nuts. They have a low profile for light duty fastening in low-clearance applications. A cadmium or tin-zinc plating provides corrosion resistance and adds lubricity so they collapse smoothly. The threaded portion is drawn into the sleeve when installed, creating pressure against the hole to secure the nut. Drill bit size listed in the table is for material with a 0.030"-0.090" thickness. These rivet nuts may be installed in thicker material, but may require larger holes. Install them using a hand- or power-driven rivet nut tool. Length is measured from under the flange. Installed length is the maximum length of the barrel when installed.

The most corrosion resistant low-profile rivet nuts we offer, these stand up to chemicals. They're often used for light duty fastening in low-clearance applications. The threaded portion is drawn into the sleeve when installed, creating pressure against the hole to secure the nut. The tin-plating provides lubricity allowing the nut to collapse smoothly. Drill bit size listed in the table is for material with a 0.030"-0.090" thickness. These rivet nuts can be installed in thicker material, but may require larger holes. Install them using a hand- or power-driven rivet nut tool. Length is measured from under the flange. Installed length is the maximum length of the barrel when installed.

These low-profile rivet nuts are one-third the weight of steel rivet nuts. They have a low profile for light duty fastening in low-clearance applications. A cadmium-plating provides corrosion resistance and adds lubricity so they collapse smoothly. Use two hands to maximize leverage when installing smooth body rivet nuts. These tools include a mandrel and nosepiece for 1/4"-20 size nuts (additional sizes sold separately). A mandrel and nosepiece are required for installation. To use, thread the nut onto the mandrel, insert the nut into a drilled hole, and squeeze the handles to secure the nut.
They are also compatible with rivet-type studs.
Tools with knob have a spin-to-reverse knob to quickly unthread the mandrel from the installed nut.
Tools with plunger have a quick-acting, pull-to-remove plunger that unthreads the mandrel from the installed nut.

This tool has changeable nosepieces, anvils, and pull-up studs for installing rivets and rivet nuts. A self-contained hydraulic system delivers additional force to make installation easier. Choose the attachment that matches your rivet's diameter or nut thread size. To install a rivet, insert the mandrel into the nosepiece of the tool. Place the rivet in the material and squeeze the handles. The tool pulls the mandrel through the rivet's body, creating a secure hold on both sides of the material, and breaks off the excess mandrel.
Pull-up studs and driving anvils for 6-32 to 3/8"-16 and M3 to M10 rivet nuts are sold separately.
