Robot-Ready Electric Grippers

Gripper Fingers and
Robot Arm (Not Included)

Including a robot tool mount and electrical connectors, these grippers come ready to attach to robot arms with standard ISO mounting hole patterns. Good for areas without compressed air, they use electricity to pick and place items in packaging, assembly, and machine-tending applications. All have a servomotor that opens and closes the grippers with equal force to grasp and release items from the inside or outside. Install the included software directly into your controller or teach pendant to program your gripper.
Select grippers that match your arm’s manufacturer series and model number or that are compatible with your electrical connection and signal output. Grippers with PNP signal output communicate proximity with a positive signal, while those with NPN signal output send a negative signal.
Grippers for FANUC CRX arms are FANUC approved, and grippers for Universal Robots (UR) arms are UR+ certified, so they've been tested to work seamlessly.
Warning: Never use to lift people or items over people.

Discrete I/O grippers have four set gripping forces to move items—use a screwdriver to select the force you’ll need. Since these grippers open and close at the same force and stroke with every cycle, they’re good for picking items of a similar size and material. A discrete I/O signal and included inductive proximity sensor send information about an item’s location to your robot arm. All of these grippers are suitable for use in clean rooms rated to ISO Class 5. They’re also rated IP30 to prevent objects greater than 2.5 mm, such as a screwdriver, from making contact with live circuits.
ISO/TS 15066 grippers help you meet international safety standards. They don’t have pinch points or sharp edges, so you can use them on robots that will be near people.
Grippers with an LED status ring have three programmable colors to show if the gripper picked or released an item, or failed.

Electric-Powered Grippers
Unlike air-powered grippers, which leak air, these electric grippers won’t release dirt or particulates, making them good for pick-and-place assembly, packaging, and finishing jobs in labs, electronics plants, and other clean environments. All have a servomotor that opens and closes the grippers with equal force to grasp and release items from the inside or outside. A discrete I/O signal actuates the grippers with a set gripping force—use a screwdriver to select the force you’ll need. Since these grippers open and close at the same force and stroke with every cycle, they’re good for picking items of a similar size and material.
To determine if gripper fingers are open or closed, and use that information to trigger other actions, add a sensor. All of these grippers are compatible with PNP and NPN signal outputs, which means they can communicate proximity with a positive or negative signal.
Warning: Never use to lift people or items over people.

IP30 grippers prevent objects greater than 2.5 mm, such as a screwdriver, from making contact with live circuits. Suitable for use in clean rooms, they are also rated to ISO Class 5. They have one M8 4-pin connection, which brings power to the gripper and two digital input signals to the grippers' controller. All are compatible with optional inductive sensors.
IP40 grippers prevent objects greater than 1 mm, such as a wire, from making contact with live circuits. They have two M8 4-pin connections—one that brings power to the gripper and two digital input signals to the grippers' controller, and another that signals the position of your fingers back to the controller. All are compatible with optional magnetic sensors.
IP64 grippers are dust-tight and protected from water splashing in all directions. They have two M8 4-pin connections—one that brings power to the gripper and two digital input signals to the grippers' controller, and another that signals the position of your fingers back to the controller. All are compatible with optional magnetic sensors.

Optional sensors signal when gripper fingers are either open or closed, and use that information to trigger other actions in your system. Magnetic sensors detect finger position by responding to magnets placed on the motor of electric-powered grippers. Use them with IP40 and IP64 grippers. Those with programmable two-position detection send a signal when fingers open and close, letting you trigger actions in your system based on both signals. Inductive sensors respond to a metallic flag on the gripper. They are not, however, the best choice for machining applications since metallic debris can accidentally trigger them. Use these sensors with IP30 grippers.
Sensors with a plug connection work with the input/output on robot tool mounts with a power/signal block. Sensors with a hardwire connection have wire leads you either wire to a plug or to a power source.
PNP sensors communicate proximity with a positive signal, while NPN send a negative signal.

Finger blanks come ready to mount, so you can make custom fingers without starting from scratch. Just machine the blank’s gripping end to create fingers that will securely grip your specific parts.
When used in pairs, individual blanks have a symmetrical design that’s suitable for most applications.
Aluminum blanks are lightweight and resist rusting in wet environments. They’re softer than steel blanks, making them easier to machine and less likely to scratch your parts.
Steel blanks are stronger and more durable than aluminum blanks, so they’re less likely to break if they hit a nearby object. You can harden them for even more strength and durability.

Removable positioning slides are part of the adjustable finger mounts. Add additional slides for tasks that require frequent finger changes. Having slides on hand with fingers already attached, makes it quick and easy to retool your gripper.

Compensation devices help you avoid jams and keep automated assembly, bin picking, and machine tending jobs running smoothly. They mount between your gripper and robot arm and have rubber pads that compress slightly when pressure is applied, allowing your grippers to adjust and grasp misaligned parts. These pads also compensate when aligning parts during placement, which increases efficiency and reliability in your process, while protecting parts and robots from wear.
These devices tilt and rotate on three axes, so grippers can grab parts in horizontal, vertical, and angled positions. They do not communicate with controllers, so there’s no need for electrical connections.

Robot-Ready Electric Soft Grippers

Mimicking a human hand, these grippers have soft, flexible silicone fingers that curl around items to pick them up. Unlike standard grippers with rigid fingers, these grippers can grasp fruit, bagged items, and other delicate objects without crushing them. They are powered and actuated entirely by your robot, so there's no need for an air supply or control valves. Connect them to terminals on your robot controller with the included 9 1/2 ft. electrical cord. A simple toggle on your controller’s digital outputs opens and closes the fingers. Mount them to most robot arms, like FANUC CRX and Universal Robots arms, thanks to their mounting slots that match a variety of ISO mounting patterns.
To program their range of motion and position, you’ll have access to a simple web-based interface from any smartphone or laptop. You don’t have to worry about hooking these up to your network. They generate their own wireless network like a hotspot, so you can connect your device to the setup interface to program them. If you are using these grippers with a Universal Robots arm, you can download a URCap plugin from the manufacturer's website for user-friendly control through your teach pendant software.
The fingers are made of FDA-compliant silicone for direct contact with food.
Grippers with fixed grip force apply the same amount of force every time. This helps them pick up most items successfully.
Grippers with adjustable grip force are the best choice to grip extremely sensitive items, such as baked goods or fragile glassware, because you can fine-tune the gripping force. These grippers also have part confirmation, which means they can send a signal to one of your robot controller's digital inputs to tell it whether a part has been successfully picked up. If the pickup fails, you can program your robot to try the pickup again.
2-finger grippers are good at picking up objects with uniform shapes, such as bottles and boxes.
4-finger grippers are a good choice if you plan to pick up irregularly shaped objects and need additional points of contact for a secure hold. They work well with fruits and vegetables, fabrics and flexible packaging.
Finger covers (sold separately) protect the gripper fingers from residue left from the material you're picking. These silicone covers slide over the fingers for picking and slide off for cleaning. They are FDA compliant for direct contact with food.
Stroke width describes the maximum total change in distance between fingers when the gripper actuates.

Flexible Gripper Fingers

Grab differently sized and shaped objects without changing out gripper fingers in between. These fingers grasp objects using a durable rubber sheet that's flexible enough to grip around contours and edges. You’ll often see them used to sort drink or pill bottles of varying shapes and sizes on production lines.
EPDM fingers resist wear and tear better than silicone fingers.
Silicone fingers are FDA compliant for direct contact with food.

Robot-Ready Electric Vacuum Lifters

Attach these lifters to FANUC CRX or Universal Robots collaborative robots. They handle items up to 3.5 times heavier than our lifters for lightweight items. Because they use electricity to pick up and move items with suction, there’s no need for compressed air or air control valves. They don’t have pinch points or sharp edges, so they help you meet ISO/TS 15066 international safety standards for people working near robots.
Often used in packaging, palletizing, and material handling, these lifters can grip everything from cardboard boxes to bags of screws. With soft rubber cups, they’re less likely than pick-and-place grippers to damage glass, thin plastic, and other delicate objects. To install, plug the cord into your robot arm. It carries both power and control signals.

These lifters include a robot tool mount, vacuum generator, quick-change cup mount, vacuum cup assembly, extra vacuum cup, and cord. Use the quick-change cup mount to swap in other vacuum cup assemblies (sold separately).
Once installed, use your robot program to turn suction on or off. An integrated vacuum switch tells your robot when an item is picked up, so it can move to the next location. View and adjust vacuum levels and other settings with an onboard screen and keypad.
Lifters for FANUC CRX arms are FANUC approved and lifters for Universal Robots (UR) arms are UR+ certified, so they’ve been tested to work seamlessly with your robot. For simple integration with your teach pendant software, download FANUC and URCap plug-ins from the manufacturer’s website.
Maximum weight capacity is achieved only when lifting items with smooth, nonporous surfaces, such as those made from glass and sheet metal. Materials like cardboard leak air when lifted, which reduces your lifter’s capacity. For instance, you can lift about 25% of the maximum capacity when using these lifters on a cardboard box similar to those we ship our parts in.

Cup assemblies connect directly to the quick-change cup mount on these lifters. Assemblies with more cups have better stability when gripping items with large surface areas or uneven weight distribution.
All assemblies include flat and single-bellows cups. Flat cups work well with flat surfaces, such as the sides of boxes. Single-bellows cups firmly hold uneven material. Swap out worn or damaged cups with replacement vacuum cups.
Robot-Ready Electric Vacuum Lifters for Lightweight Items

Made for FANUC CRX and Universal Robots collaborative robots, these lifters use suction to pick up and move lightweight items, up to 6 lbs. They run on electricity, so you don’t need compressed air or air valves. Often used in packaging, palletizing, and material handling, these lifters can grip everything from small cardboard boxes to bagged screws. With soft rubber cups, they’re less likely than pick-and-place grippers to damage glass, thin plastic, and other delicate materials. They’re also simple to set up—a single cord supplies both power and control to your robot arm. They help you meet ISO/TS 15066 international safety standards for people working near robots because there are no pinch points or sharp edges.

These lifters include a vacuum generator with a robot mount, a cord, and two types of vacuum cups. Use the flat cup for items with level surfaces and the single-bellows cup for gripping tilted items or items of different heights. You can also use your own vacuum cup if it has a compatible 1/4 BSPP threaded connection. For large items, items that might break if lifted from a single point, or material with uneven weight distribution, use 2-, 3-, or 4-cup assemblies (sold separately).
Once you’ve installed these lifters, use your robot program to turn suction on or off. An integrated vacuum switch tells your robot when an item is picked up, so it knows when to move to the next location. Adjust the vacuum level using the arrow keys on the lifter body. These lifters achieve maximum weight capacity only when handling items with smooth, nonporous surfaces, such as glass or sheet metal.

Cup assemblies attach directly to the bottom of vacuum lifters. Swap out your single cup for multiple cups for more stability—they spread suction across larger areas. Use them to pick up thin glass, plastic sheets, and other items that might flex or break when lifted from a single point.
Robot-Ready Vacuum Lifters

With robot tool mounts and connectors, these vacuum lifters come ready to attach to robot arms with standard ISO mounting hole patterns. Use them with compressed air to grip, lift, and move items with curves, angles, and varied heights. Also known as venturi devices, they generate suction without an installed vacuum system. If you don't see your robot model number listed, measure the bolt circle diameter to determine mounting compatibility.
Lifters and lifters with cups have two arms with vacuum cup connections. You can adjust the width of the arms to handle large items as well as tilt them to better grip uneven shapes. You can even remove an arm for applications that require only one cup. All of these lifters have a digital display for viewing the status of the lifter and controlling the vacuum. They’re protected from dust and water splashes. Lifters don’t include cups. Add vacuum cups that meet your specific needs. Lifters with cups include eight silicone and polyurethane rubber cups with different sizes and number of bellows. Cups with more bellows are better for handling items that have more variations in shape.
Lifters with a foam pad have an EPDM foam pad that’s soft enough to conform to items without damaging them. They’re best for delicate surfaces as well as porous surfaces where cups cannot obtain an airtight grip. They are not protected from dust and water splashes. Those with a sensor communicate the grip position of your lifter to a controller. They have LED status indicators, so you can quickly see the status of the lifters.
Lifters with PNP signal output communicate proximity with a positive signal, while those with NPN signal output send a negative signal.
UR+ certified lifters have been tested and approved to work seamlessly with Universal Robots (UR) arms. Plug the included software directly into your teach pendant to program the lifter.
Choose lifters with an additional port if you’d like to add a pressure transmitter (not included). Your transmitter will convert air pressure to an electrical signal for viewing air measurements on remote displays and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Optional sensors can be added to lifters with a foam pad for communicating the grip position to a controller. They require an A-code micro M12 power cord (sold separately).
Warning: Never use to lift people or items over people.

Robot-Ready Vacuum Lifters for Large Surfaces
These large-surface lifters come with software, robot tool mounts, and connectors for quick setup and use with FANUC CRX robot arms. Using compressed air through multiple suction ports, they lift larger and heavier items than standard vacuum lifters. Also known as venturi devices, they generate suction without an installed vacuum system. To view data and adjust settings in a smartphone app, hold a phone that can read near-field communication (NFC) up to one of the NFC tags on these lifters. A digital display lets you read measurements while standing next to them.
These lifters have an IP40 rating, meaning that they keep out objects 1 mm or larger—such as wire—to protect their inner parts. They also meet ISO/TS 15066—with no pinch points or sharp edges, you can safely use them on robots that will be near people.
Lifters with cups grip irregularly shaped items better than lifters with a pad.
Lifters with a pad are better at lifting porous items than lifters with cups, and are also less likely to damage delicate surfaces.
Warning: Never use to lift people or items over people.
