Weigh and measure tension force at a safe distance, up to 450 feet away, with these wireless gauges. Also known as dynamometers and crane scales, they’re used with cranes or hoists while moving material around your plant. With a low overall height, they can be used indoors in areas with limited headroom. They can also be used outdoors because they’re NEMA 4 rated, which means they’re weather tight for protection from rain, snow, and ice. Their IP65 rating protects them from dust, splashing water, and low-pressure washdowns, such as from a garden hose.
A peak-hold setting continually displays the highest readings, so you can make adjustments to prevent overloads. A tare function lets you reset the gauge to zero after attaching a container to weigh only the material inside. All include a calibration certificate traceable to NIST that states they've passed a test to confirm accuracy. If you accidentally place a heavy load on these gauges, they’re durable enough to handle it; they withstand a temporary load up to 500% of their capacity. The ability to take accurate readings, however, may be permanently impaired if loads exceed 200% of their capacity. To meet safety and fatigue standards, these gauges are IEC 61508 and ASME BTH-1 rated.
Gauges come with two shackles that accept other lifting fittings, such as clevis hooks. They operate on batteries, which can power their load cells for up to 2,000 hours.
Use single-point gauges to take measurements and view them on a handheld wireless receiver. All have two-level warning lights—they flash the first warning when your load exceeds capacity, and then again when it reaches 133% of capacity. Choose gauges with a heat shield disc and jacket when working in hot environments, such as a foundry. With the added heat protection, their load cells take longer to reach their maximum temperature than other gauges. They also have an internal thermometer that lets you see the load cell temperature on the receiver.
Use multiple-point gauges to move materials with unevenly distributed loads that may require rigging. These gauges display real-time measurements from each load point so you can make adjustments to prevent overloads. They connect to Bluetooth-compatible smartphones or tablets using iOS 8 or later operating systems. Download the app to view and map the weights and tension forces of each load point. Warning lights flash and an alarm sounds when capacity is exceeded.

Measure and track forces in equipment in sanitary environments such as food, beverage, and pharmaceutical plants. Made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and IP rated for protection while submerged in water, these sensors will withstand repeated washdowns. With an electropolished finish and a seamless construction, they’re easily cleaned and have no crevices for bacteria to grow in.
Connect sensors—also known as load cells—to a computer or programmable logic controller (PLC) to monitor, document, or trigger actions in your machinery. While other force sensors send out electrical signals that must be converted to a digital readout, these sensors do the conversion themselves. They’re factory calibrated, so they don’t need to be calibrated with a device in the field. With 200% overload protection, they can briefly handle up to two times their load capacity. All components are CE marked as meeting European health, safety, and environmental protection standards.
Choose kits for everything you need to create a force measurement system, or buy components individually to build a custom system or modify an existing one.
Round sensors measure compression force. Install them under silos, tanks, hoppers, mixers, and other equipment for process weighing applications. They have two mounting plates to prevent your equipment from lifting off the ground and tipping over. Mount them by bolting the bottom plate to your floor and bolting or welding the top plate to your equipment.
Beam sensors measure both compression and tension force. They can be mounted underneath equipment to weigh the contents, or installed upside-down between a tank and a leveling mount to weigh material in small tanks or silos. Beam sensors are for use in lighter duty applications than round sensors.
PLC/PC connection kits are commonly used to weigh vessels, which requires several sensors working together. They include three or four sensors, a data connection hub, a weighing instrument, a power supply, and an enclosure. The weighing instrument automatically configures the system based on data from the sensors, with little user input required.

Weighing instruments connect to data connection hubs and give a digital readout based on the number of sensors and their capacities. Create set points and parameters with the touch keyboard, and use the tare function to set sensors to zero. Weighing instruments have a stainless steel housing that’s IP rated as safe from washdowns and submersion in water. Mount the housing to a wall or panel. Weighing instruments require a power supply (sold separately).
