Alloy Steel Socket Head Screws

With a tensile strength of 170,000 psi, these alloy steel screws are stronger than Grade 8 steel screws. Length is measured from under the head.
Black and black-oxide steel screws are mildly corrosion resistant in dry environments.
Coarse threads are the industry standard; choose these screws if you don’t know the pitch or threads per inch. Screws that meet ASME B18.3, ASME B18.3.1M, ISO 21269, and ISO 4762 (formerly DIN 912) comply with specifications for dimensional standards.

High-Strength Metric Class 10.9 Steel Hex Head Screws

Choose these Class 10.9 steel screws for high-stress applications, such as valves, pumps, motors, and automotive suspension systems. They are at least 25% stronger than medium-strength steel screws. Dimensions meet ISO (formerly DIN) or DIN specifications. Length is measured from under the head.
Steel screws should be used in dry, noncorrosive environments. Zinc yellow-chromate plated and zinc-plated steel screws resist corrosion in wet environments. Match the thread spacing of mating components. Coarse threads are the industry standard; choose these screws if you don’t know the pitch.

Metric High-Strength Steel Heavy Hex Head Screws for Structural Applications

Designed for construction and exterior building applications, these metric screws are often used to join I-beams and scaffolding. Their partial threading leaves an unthreaded portion that is strong enough to stand up to the sideways forces of joints. Made of Class 10.9 steel, these screws are at least 25% stronger than our medium-strength steel heavy hex head screws. They also have a hot-dipped galvanized finish that makes them 10 times more corrosion resistant than zinc plating, so they won't rust in wet environments. However, this finish is thicker than other finishes, so they should be used with DIN 6916 structural washers and DIN 6915 structural hex nuts. All meet ISO 7412 (formerly DIN 6914), an international standard for screw dimensions.

Setup Studs

Secure setup clamps and fixtures to your machine table, or assemble heavy machines, such as engine mounts. These studs act as a pilot when connecting parts since they’re headless, which eases installation. Unlike a bolt, which has a head, they let you access parts from either end, but they require nuts to hold the part. Pair them with a T-slot or flanged nut when securing to a machine table. Or, put a nut on before your part to work as a float, allowing you to adjust the height of your part. The unthreaded middle is useful for gripping and adjusting. Also known as double-ended studs.
Steel studs are stronger than stainless steel studs. But, unfinished steel studs will rust from air and moisture. Black-oxide steel studs resist rusting in dry environments.
DIN studs meet dimensional and material requirements.

Eyebolts—For Lifting

Also known as machinery eyebolts.
Zinc-plated steel eyebolts offer good corrosion resistance.
Galvanized steel eyebolts have a hot-dipped finish for more corrosion resistance than zinc-plated steel.
304 stainless steel eyebolts are more corrosion resistant than galvanized steel.
316 stainless steel are the most corrosion resistant eyebolts.
Note: Capacities listed are for vertical lifting only. Eyebolts with shoulder can be used for angular lifting up to 45°, but the capacities will be significantly reduced. For angular lifting, we recommend Hoist Rings.
