Screws for Joining Sheet Metal to Wood

Secure thin metal roofing and siding panels to wooden framing in post-frame buildings. These screws have a sharp tip to pierce metal and deep, widely spaced threads to grip wood. They resist pullout, even in high winds or under heavy vibration. The sealing washer keeps out water to prevent leaks.

Wings under the head cut a hole slightly larger than the threads, so the plastic can expand and contract as temperatures change. The threads engage only with the wood below, leaving space for the plastic. A washer made from aluminum and rubber bonded to steel adds a watertight seal.
18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these screws resist rust. However, they won't hold up to the harsh chemicals that 316 stainless steel can.
