Ring Shims
Precisely align, level, and adjust spacing on fasteners, shafts, and machinery with these shims.
For accurate leveling, choose materials such as steel or stainless steel, which are hard enough to resist scratching and deforming. Softer shims, like copper or aluminum, can be used as wear plates between components that rub together, preventing damage to equipment.
Carbon steel shims have excellent strength and can be welded, but aren't as corrosion resistant as other shims.

Tight-Fit Ring Shims
For a snug fit around a shaft, the ID of these shims is held to a tighter tolerance than other ring shims.
For accurate leveling, choose materials such as steel or stainless steel, which are hard enough to resist scratching and deforming. Softer shims, like brass, can be used as wear plates between components that rub together, preventing damage to equipment.
Alloy steel shims are stronger and harder than stainless steel and brass shims, but they aren’t as corrosion resistant.

Softer shims, like copper or aluminum, can be used as wear plates between components that rub together, preventing damage to equipment. Metal shims include a material certificate with traceable lot number and test report.
PTFE plastic shim stock is slippery, so it can be used to reduce friction between parts. It also has excellent chemical resistance.

Peel-Away Layered Shim Stock
Cut this shim stock it into custom shapes to fit your application. Stock is made of layers of material bonded with adhesive; remove layers with a utility knife until you get the thickness you need. To make the layers easier to pull apart, gently heat the shim to soften the adhesive.
For accurate leveling, choose materials such as steel or stainless steel, which are hard enough to resist scratching and deforming. Softer shims, like copper or aluminum, can be used as wear plates between components that rub together, preventing damage to equipment.
18-8 stainless steel shim stock is more corrosion resistant than carbon steel shim stock.
Carbon steel shim stock has excellent strength and can be welded, but isn't as corrosion resistant as other shim stock.

Electrical-Insulating Sleeve Washers
Also known as shoulder or insulator washers, these nonmetal washers block electrical current and prevent galvanic corrosion from mating different types of metal.

Angled-Edge Washers for Toggle Clamp Holding Screws
Use on clamps with open arms to keep the holding screw in place.
302 stainless steel washers provide better corrosion resistance than steel washers.

Split Lock Washers for Socket Head Screws
Also known as high-collar lock washers, these have smaller outside diameters than standard split lock washers to fit neatly under socket head cap screws. As a screw is tightened, they flatten to add tension to the joint and prevent loosening from small amounts of vibration.
Black-oxide steel washers are mildly corrosion resistant in dry environments. Zinc-plated steel washers are corrosion resistant in wet environments.
18-8 stainless steel washers have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. Black-oxide 18-8 stainless steel washers have a matte black finish.
316 stainless steel washers have excellent resistance to chemicals and salt water. They may be mildly magnetic.
Washers that meet ASME B18.21.1 adhere to strict dimensional standards. Steel washers also meet standards for material properties.
