    Extension Springs

The farther you stretch these springs, the harder they pull to bring the two ends back together. They're commonly used to tension cable, return an air cylinder to its starting point, or hold a door closed.
Loop End—The most secure attachment method. With fully closed loops, there's no risk of slipping off.
Hook End—Hook into closed holes, such as hanger bolt eyes. These springs work best when kept under tension, as they're more likely to slip off than loop-end springs when tension is released. Also known as machine hook ends.
Spring Steel—Strong and resilient, but best suited for dry environments since moisture will cause these springs to rust.
Corrosion-Resistant 302 Stainless Steel—Won’t corrode from exposure to moisture and mild chemicals, including ammonia often found in cleaning solutions. These springs are easier to extend than steel, but can’t handle as high a load.
Highly Corrosion-Resistant 316 Stainless Steel—Our most corrosion-resistant stainless steel springs won't degrade when exposed to salt water and harsh chemicals. They're easier to extend than steel, but can’t handle as high a load.
Minimum Load—The amount of force required to start extending the spring.
Maximum Load—The amount of force required to fully extend the spring.

    Extra-Stretch Extension Springs

Image of Product. Front orientation. Extension Springs. Extra-Stretch Extension Springs.
Stretch up to three times their original length with lasting elasticity. These latex rubber springs extend much farther than traditional extension springs, tie downs, and shock cords. Plus, unlike metal springs, they keep their elasticity even after repeated use. All have a non-locking carabiner with a spring-loaded latch at each end for ease of installation. They’re often used in automotive assembly lines, conveyor systems, and safety mechanisms. Do not use them to hold overhead loads.
Minimum Load—The amount of force required to start extending the spring.
Maximum Load—The amount of force required to fully extend the spring.

Similar to disc springs, these linear springs are good for absorbing vibration and filling in gaps along the length of an object. Their thin profile allows them to fit in tight spots.

    Top Mount, Opens Up

Also known as hatch springs, these supports are commonly used on hatches and other top-opening lids. Raise the lid to extend the spring, which props the lid open—an internal cable keeps the spring from overextending. Press the center of the spring to release the hold and close the lid. To secure the lid in a closed position, use a latch or lock (not included). These supports are rated for maximum lid weight—do not exceed the weight listed. They can be used individually but should be used in pairs for lids longer than 24".
Reversible Mount—Reversible mount supports are for right-side or left-side mounting positions.
Top Mount, Opens Up—Supports for lids that open up from the top are often used on crates, hatches, and tool chests.
