Scalpels
Cut, trim, and puncture thin materials such as paper, plastic, and fabric. Combine a blade with a compatible handle (sold separately).
Stainless steel blades are more corrosion resistant than steel blades and can be sterilized.
#10 blades are the most commonly used scalpel blades for simple, straight cuts.
#11 blades have an extra-fine tip similar to X-ACTO blades. Use them for precise cuts around intricate shapes or to make small punctures.
#12 blades are curved so rope, twine, and cord won't slip while you cut them.
#15 blades have a short cutting edge for making small, curved cuts.
#20 blades and higher are extra large, so long cuts take less time.
#4L handles are extra long, allowing you to make deep cuts.

Disposable Scalpels

Slice and pierce fabric, paper, and other thin materials, then discard these scalpels when you’re done. All have a stainless steel blade that resists corrosion and can be sterilized.
Style A scalpels are made from a single piece of stainless steel. They’re stronger than scalpels with a plastic handle, so you can cut with more force.
Style C scalpels have a short, wide handle that you can grip with your thumb and index finger for a secure hold.
#10 blades are the most common scalpel blades. Use them for simple, straight cuts.
#11 blades have an extra-fine tip that’s similar to X-ACTO blades. Use them for precise cuts around intricate shapes or to make small punctures.
#12 blades are curved so rope, twine, and cord won't slip while you cut them.
#15 blades have a short cutting edge for making small, curved cuts.
#21 blades are the same shape as #10 blades, but they’re larger, so you can make long cuts more quickly.

Single-Use Sampling Knives

Slice, spread, and smooth samples with these knives, then toss them when you’re done to avoid cross contamination. Made of polystyrene, they're rigid enough to cut through material as thick as clay without bending or breaking. They’re FDA compliant for direct contact with food.
Sterile knives are made and individually bagged in an ISO Class 7 clean room, so they’re free of particles that could contaminate your samples.
