A good alternative to metal wool, nylon is waterproof and won’t rust, splinter, or shed.
Coarse—Aggressively strip and deburr.

Steel Wool Pads
Use steel wool for a range of surface preparation tasks, from removing paint and rust to polishing for a fine finish.
Extra Coarse 4—Remove thick or stubborn rust and dirt.
Coarse Grade 3—Strip lacquer and paint.
