High-Current Time and Day Activated Switches

Control equipment with high currents such as landscape lighting, pumps, and heaters. Program these switches to turn a device on and off at a set time and day. Position trippers around the clock dial to set on and off times.
24-hour switches repeat the same program daily.
Seven-day switches can perform a different program each day of the week.
Switches with a day skipper can be programmed to skip operation for one to six days.
Additional trippers (sold separately) are sold in pairs that include one “on” tripper and one “off” tripper.

Motor Switches

Use these switches to turn motors on and off, or to control lighting and electric heat circuits. They do not provide overload protection.
Toggle switches work like a traditional light switch—just flip the toggle up or down. Even if you’re wearing thick gloves, they’re easy to actuate.

Enclosure Motor Switches

Designed to mount on an electrical enclosure, these switches control motors, lighting, and electric heat circuits. Your enclosure door will only open when the switch is turned to the off position. This ensures equipment is safely off before you open the electrical enclosure. For an extra layer of safety, use a padlock (not included) on the actuator lever to lock switches in the off position. These switches do not provide overload protection.
Cut the shaft to fit your enclosure. Mount to a DIN rail inside an enclosure; mounting depth is the distance from the panel door to the DIN rail.

Washdown Enclosed Disconnect Switches
The IP66 rated housing not only shields these switches from washdowns but also makes them durable enough to be mounted outside of an electrical panel. These switches cut power and keep it isolated to prevent equipment from starting up during inspection and maintenance.
Switches with lockout secure in the off position with a padlock with a maximum shackle diameter of 5/16” (not included).
Use additional power poles to control more than three circuits.

Undervoltage Disconnect Switches

Prevent motors and other equipment from overheating or failing from not having enough voltage. When the supply voltage falls below 35% of the rated voltage, these switches will automatically turn off to protect the circuit from undervoltage. Once the power is cut, they'll keep it isolated to prevent accidental startups during inspection and maintenance.
To prevent unauthorized use of these switches, you can lock them out with a padlock (not included). Even if a padlock blocks them from physically turning off, they’ll disconnect power to the actuator if voltage falls below a safe level.

DIN-Rail Mount Solid State Relays

Unlike mechanical relays, these solid state relays have no moving parts, so they require less maintenance and last longer, switch faster, and are quieter. They mount on 35 mm DIN rail (also known as DIN 3) for fast installation. An LED indicator lights up when these relays are connected, so you can quickly confirm that they’re wired correctly. IP20 rated, their terminals are recessed, so they prevent fingers and other objects from touching live circuits.
Relays with an integrated heat sink disperse heat to increase the relay’s current rating.
Relays with an integrated fan are best for applications that generate more heat. The fan automatically turns on to provide additional cooling. When the temperature exceeds 176° F, an alarm sends a signal to an external device, such as a controller or indicating light.

Infrequent-Cycle Relays

For use with equipment that cycles on and off, these relays meet UL 508 for air conditioning and heating. Connections are accessible from the front, so you can mount relays side-by-side. Also known as definite-purpose contactors.
Enclosures (sold separately) are NEMA 1 rated to protect contacts from corrosion.
Also Available: Auxiliary contacts for 3.8"-7.2" Ht. relays. They allow you to add a signaling device or control another relay. Please select 6564K99, then select the McMaster-Carr part number of your relay and whether you want to switch one circuit on (1 Normally Open) or off (1 Normally Closed).

Weatherproof High-Starting-Current Vehicle Relays

Crimp-On
Terminals
An extended housing shields the terminals on these relays from weather. They're also rated IP54—when they're plugged into the relay socket, they're sealed to keep splashing water, like rain, from getting inside. They handle high starting (inrush) currents that often occur when turning on a vehicle. To prevent damage to sensitive equipment, these relays will partially suppress a momentary surge in voltage when the relay switches off. They’ll take a voltage spike of 300V to 500V and bring it down to 100V.
Relays for surface mounting have a tab for added security in high-vibration applications.

Touch-Safe DIN-Rail Mount Infrequent-Cycle Relays
Operate equipment that cycles on and off from your control cabinet. Often called definite-purpose contactors, these relays meet UL 508 for use with air conditioning and heating. Mount them directly to 35 mm DIN rail (also known as DIN 3 rail) for fast installation. They have recessed terminals that prevent fingers and other objects from touching live circuits. You can wire the control circuit on either side of the relay, which helps you use less wire.
Auxiliary contacts (sold separately) allow you to add a signaling device or control another relay.
Use replacement coils to swap out a broken coil or change the input voltage of a relay. The full load current of the relay must match the full load current range of the coil.
