Choosing an Electrical Switch
More
Rotary Switches
Control multiple devices with one switch. Turn the shaft to change switch positions. Each position closes a set of contacts per circuit, so you can select between multiple devices on one or more circuits.

PCB-Mount Relays
Solder these relays directly to printed circuit boards using their solder pin terminals. They're smaller than relays with electrical wiring, so they'll fit in compact devices. They allow low-power circuits to control high-power components, such as heaters and fans.
Solid state relays have no moving parts, so they require less maintenance and last longer, switch faster, and are quieter than mechanical relays.
