About half the strength of medium-strength steel threaded rods, use these for light duty hanging, mounting, and fastening.
Zinc-plated steel threaded rods are corrosion resistant in wet environments.
Hot-dipped galvanized steel threaded rods have a thick coating for better corrosion resistance than zinc-plated steel threaded rods. They must be used with other hot-dipped galvanized fasteners.

Also known as extension nuts, use these to connect and extend threaded rods. They're about half the strength of medium-strength steel coupling nuts for use in light duty fastening applications.
Zinc-plated steel coupling nuts resist corrosion in wet environments.
Hot-dipped galvanized steel coupling nuts have a thick coating for better corrosion resistance than zinc-plated steel nuts. They must be used with other hot-dipped galvanized fasteners.
Zinc-aluminum-coated steel coupling nuts are 40 times as corrosion resistant as zinc-plated steel coupling nuts and are comparable to Magni-coated nuts. They meet ASTM B117, which means they withstand 1,000 hours of salt spray.
Black-oxide steel coupling nuts have a dark surface color and are mildly corrosion resistant in dry environments.

Connect two differently sized male-threaded parts, such as threaded rods, and tighten with a standard wrench. The threads on these adapters have various sizes and spacing, so you can increase or decrease thread size or adapt from coarse to fine threading. You can also use them to change the gender of a connection from male to female. Small adapters can work as threaded standoffs, which position and separate circuit boards and other components in assemblies.
Zinc-plated steel adapters are a good option in dry environments. The zinc plating prevents the steel from corroding until the plating wears away.
18-8 stainless steel adapters resist corrosion caused by water. They're good for wet and damp environments but will corrode when exposed to salt water and other chloride solutions.
316 stainless steel adapters have the best corrosion resistance. They stand up to wet environments, just like 18-8 stainless steel adapters, but unlike 18-8 stainless steel adapters, they resist corrosion caused by salt water and harsh chemicals.

Combine these setup studs with T-slot nuts, flanged nuts, setup clamps, or setup blocks to clamp and hold workpieces, vises, and other objects onto your fixturing table. Also known as double-ended studs, they have threads on both ends. One end threads into a T-slot nut or flanged nut inside the table. The other end passes through a setup clamp and secures with a nut and washer. The middle of the stud is unthreaded for gripping and adjusting the stud.
These setup studs are also used to align parts during assembly. One end of the stud is threaded into the part being added, and the other end fits into the mounting hole of the mating part. Because the studs don't have a head, you have the option to thread them into holes from either end, but they require a nut. You can adjust the distance between the mating parts by tightening and loosening the nut.
Steel studs are low- or medium-strength carbon steel. With no protective coating, they have poor corrosion resistance. Avoid using them in humid and damp environments.

Mount these externally threaded shafts into tapped holes rather than using a shaft support, or attach a hex nut, shaft collar, or other threaded accessory. Smooth, hard, and wear resistant, linear motion shafts work with linear bearings to reduce friction in manual and automated systems, such as those found in packing, machine tool, and material handling operations. The smooth surface reduces friction and wear on the bearing—the lower the microinch value a shaft has, the smoother its finish and the less friction it will create. Shafts are case-hardened to increase hardness and wear resistance on the surface of the shaft while allowing the center to remain soft for absorbing stresses caused by shifting loads. The edges are chamfered to remove sharp corners, reducing damage to bearings, housings, and other components during installation. All are turned, ground, and polished to tight diameter and straightness tolerances.
1060 carbon steel shafts balance high strength and good machinability, making them ideal for general purpose use.

Steel shafts are generally stronger than aluminum and stainless steel shafts but not as corrosion resistant. 1045 carbon steel shafts balance high strength and good machinability, making them ideal for general purpose use. 4140 alloy steel shafts have a higher yield strength than 1045 carbon steel shafts for supporting heavier loads; however, they are more difficult to machine. Connect these internally threaded shafts directly to threaded components, or use a fastener to secure. The edges are chamfered to remove sharp corners, reducing damage to bearings, housings, and other components during installation. All are turned, ground, and polished to tight diameter and straightness tolerances.
They are hardened for increased wear resistance. 303 stainless steel are more corrosion resistant than steel shafts but also more difficult to machine. They are annealed (softened) for increased corrosion resistance.
Attach threaded accessories, such as mixer propellers and fan blades, to the end of these shafts.
To Order: Please specify the length of the shaft (in 0.005" or 0.1 mm increments). For the tapped end of the shaft, please specify thread size. For the threaded end of the shaft, please specify thread size, thread length (in 0.005" or 01. mm increments), and step length (in 0.005" or 0.1 mm increments).
