Keep your hands clear of the material being cut with the offset handles on these cutters. Also known as aviation snips, they have a double hinge that provides high cutting force with low gripping pressure. A spring opens the jaws for quick cutting, and a locking latch holds them together when the cutter is not in use. Blades are serrated to prevent slipping.

The handles are angled 90° from the blade so you can cut material from directly above in tight spaces. Also known as aviation snips, these cutters have a double hinge that provides high cutting force with low gripping pressure. A spring opens the jaws for quick cutting, and a locking latch holds them together when the cutter is not in use. Blades are serrated to prevent slipping.

Blades are high-speed steel so they stay sharp longer than steel blades, and they can be sharpened. Also known as aviation snips, these cutters have a double hinge that provides high cutting force with low gripping pressure. A spring opens the jaws for quick cutting, and a locking latch holds them together when the cutter is not in use. Handles are offset to keep your hand away from the material being cut.

Determine the relative hardness of resins, film, lacquer, and paint by testing their resistance to scratches by graphite pencils. The pencils are calibrated to specific lead grades for hardness. The lowest hardness value of the pencil that mars the material is the material’s relative hardness. Flatten the tip of the pencil lead with the included 400 grit sandpaper, then insert the pencil into the tester. As you push the tester over your material, the pencil is dragged across the surface at a constant pressure. These testers are often used in the development of synthetic resins. They meet ASTM D3363 for testing the hardness of coatings.
