Spring-Back Multipurpose 304 Stainless Steel Wire
This wire bounces back after bending. Often used to construct springs and wire rope, 304 stainless steel is a good all-around choice for a wide range of applications.
PTFE-coated wire has a slippery surface, so it’s especially useful as a fish wire when navigating through confined spaces.

Hardened Undersized High-Speed M2 Tool Steel Rods

- Yield Strength: Not Rated
- Hardness: Rockwell C60 (Very Hard)
These rods, also known as drill blanks, have an undersized diameter for machining your own jobbers'-length drill bits. They're hardened for increased abrasion and impact resistance. M2 tool steel offers a nice balance of wear resistance and machinability. It has a high molybdenum content, which allows it to maintain sharp cutting edges even at elevated temperatures.

Ultra-Corrosion-Resistant Grade 2 Titanium Wire

- Temper Rating: Softened (Annealed)
- Tensile Strength: 50,000 psi
- Specifications Met: ASTM B863
Bend this wire and it will stay in place. Because Grade 2 titanium is 99% pure, it is more corrosion resistant than Grades 5 and 9 but not as strong. It has good formability and weldability. Common uses include chemical-processing equipment, heat exchangers, and marine hardware.

Platinum Wire

- Hardness: Rockwell B97 (Medium)
99.95% pure, this platinum wire is used for applications that require a soft material that resists corrosion and oxidation and has a high melting point. This wire allows heat and electricity to pass and resists oxide buildup, making it ideal for thermocouple probes, which require accurate readings even at high temperatures. Soft enough to create a good seal between two flanges, it's also used to make high-vacuum O-rings. Platinum's softness means it won't damage the flanges, so they can be used again. The high melting point of this wire makes it a better choice for sealing heated flanges than other materials such as gold.

Gold Wire

- Hardness: Rockwell B57 (Soft)
Used to make electrical connectors that are exposed to air and corrosive conditions, this 99.99% pure gold wire stays highly conductive where other conductors would fail. It also has a high melting point, low thermal resistance, and won’t oxidize, so it’s good for making parts that remain accurate in extreme environments. Compared to platinum, gold is more conductive but has a lower melting point. It’s often used to make O-rings, even for high-vacuum applications, because it’s soft enough to form a good seal when pressed between two flanges, yet won’t damage the flanges so you can reuse them.

Difficult-to-Bend Corrosion-Resistant Small-Diameter Braided Wire—Not for Lifting

This braided wire has a stiff construction for use as bracing and guy wires. This stainless steel braided wire can handle corrosive environments, such as areas that are frequently washed down. Individual wire strands are preformed to maintain their shape and prevent rope from unraveling when cut. Extra-lubricated braided wire has an additional coating of lubrication for added wear and corrosion resistance.
Corrosion-Resistant Small-Diameter Braided Wire—Not for Lifting

This stainless steel braided wire can handle corrosive environments, such as areas that are frequently washed down. This wire rope provides a good balance of abrasion resistance and flexibility. Preformed wire rope maintains its shape when cut and resists unraveling. Extra-lubricated braided wire has an additional coating of lubrication for added wear and corrosion resistance.
Strand core is more crush resistant than hollow core.
