Hex Sure-Grip Opening | Round Opening |
Get a firm hold on flare nuts and fittings to create leak-tight seals on tubing without cracking it. The heads on these wrenches have recessed corners to distribute turning force more evenly than standard wrenches, preventing stripping and slipping. They're well-suited for tight spots on refrigeration, brake, fuel, or hydraulic lines. Also known as flare-nut or line wrenches.
Hex Sure-Grip Opening—Avoid rounding off the corners of hex-head fasteners. These wrenches won't slip, even when nuts and bolts are rusted or damaged, since they grip the sides rather than the corners.

They have a hex or 12-point opening with more surface area than rounded wrench heads, so they make more contact with fasteners for a better hold. Also known as flare-nut crowfoot wrenches or line wrenches, they're often used with flared tube fittings as well as fuel and hydraulic lines. Connect them to your socket extension and ratchet wrench to turn fasteners where clearance is limited from both the top and side. You can also attach one directly to your ratchet wrench to convert it into an open-ended ratcheting wrench.
