How to Identify and Measure Fittings
Pipe size is an industry designation, not the actual size. View information about how to measure threaded and unthreaded pipe and pipe fittings.

Aluminum Nylon-Insert Locknuts

One-third the weight of steel, aluminum nuts resist corrosion in wet environments and are nonmagnetic. The nylon insert grips the bolt to resist loosening without damaging threads. They're reusable, but their holding power lessens with each use.

Tamper-Resistant Breakaway Nuts

Aluminum nuts are lightweight, corrosion resistant in wet environments, and nonmagnetic.

Tamper-Resistant Serrated-Edge Locknuts

These nuts have serrations that dig into the material surface to resist loosening and are narrow to fit in tight spaces. They must be installed with a serrated-edge driver (sold separately). Use them to reduce the risk of unwanted removal for objects in public spaces such as signs, lighting fixtures, and displays. Made from aluminum, they're lightweight, corrosion resistant in wet evironments, and nonmagnetic.

Locknuts for Metal Conduit Fittings

316 Stainless
Steel, and Aluminum
Secure threaded metal conduit fittings to a knockout in an outlet box or enclosure.
Zinc-plated steel, 316 stainless steel, and aluminum locknuts are compatible with NPSL and NPSM threads.

Low-Pressure Aluminum Threaded Pipe Fittings
In addition to being lightweight, these aluminum fittings offer good corrosion resistance. Use them in low-pressure flow applications. To prevent cracking, do not tighten more than a 1/4-turn past hand tight.
Locknuts thread onto the male end of a fitting to provide extra holding power so the fitting won’t loosen from vibration.
NPTF (Dryseal) threads and NPSL (National Pipe Straight Locknut) threads are compatible with NPT threads.
