    Kevlar Fabric

    Plain Weave

    Use this resin-free fabric to reinforce or repair existing composites as well as create new composites. Mold custom-shaped composite parts by layering fabric with an epoxy. Finished composite pieces withstand temperatures up to 250° or 350° F.
    Plain Weave—Fabric with a plain weave has fibers that are woven in alternating directions for uniform strength and rigidity in all directions. Easier to machine than fabrics with a unidirectional weave, its woven pattern holds the fibers together to limit splintering. Plain-weave fabric is more rigid and maintains its shape better than twill-weave fabric. However, it is not as strong and easy to manipulate as twill- and triaxial-weave fabric.
    Kevlar Fabric—Kevlar fabric is a super-tough material that offers excellent wear and abrasion resistance.

    Aramid/Fiberglass Fabric

    A blend of aramid and fiberglass, this fabric resists mildew and abrasion. It is self-extinguishing and won't melt, so it's often used for insulation applications.

    Cut-Resistant Kevlar Fabric Sheets

    More cut resistant than Nomex, this aramid fabric stands up to blades and sharp edges that would slice through standard materials. It works well as protective liners, guards, and barriers. Strong and chemical resistant, it holds up to solvents and industrial chemicals that would degrade polyester or nylon.

    Cut-Resistant Kevlar Webbing

    Tie down sheet metal, dies, and other items with sharp edges. Made from Kevlar, this webbing is strong, heat resistant, and difficult to cut—it’s tough enough to use in parachute harnesses. For neat ends that won’t unravel, cut this webbing with an ultrasonic knife. You can also use snips or a hot knife, but you’ll need to fold and sew the ends or add a finishing tip (sold separately) to prevent fraying.
    Note: Breaking strength is the force at which new webbing will break. Choose webbing with a high enough breaking strength for the working load limit and safety factor required by your application.
    Warning: Never use for lifting applications.

    Flame-Resistant Nomex Webbing

    Often used to make tethers for firefighters, this Nomex webbing withstands direct flames and heat up to 500° F. It’s also used to secure workpieces during welding. For neat ends that won’t unravel, cut this webbing with an ultrasonic knife.
