Fine-tune thickness without worrying about stacking multiple shims. These shims are made of metal layers bonded with adhesive—peel off the layers with a utility knife until you reach your desired thickness. To make peeling easier, warm the shims to soften the adhesive. With thickness tolerances as fine as a strand of hair, all of these shims precisely align, space, and level components on shafts, arbors, and machinery.
Brass—With a warm, polished look, these shims are often chosen for their appearance. Similar to 18-8 stainless steel, brass is corrosion resistant enough to stand up to wet environments.

With ID tolerances sized specifically for reamers, these bushings ensure steady and precise hole finishing. Press them into a fixture plate with a manual or hydraulic press for permanent installation. Also known as headless bushings, these ANSI-type P bushings don’t need counterboring to be mounted flush.
