|
Pair these holders with an ANSI standard carbide insert (sold separately). When one edge of the insert dulls, rotate it to use another edge. Right-hand holders cut from right to left, left-hand holders cut from left to right, and neutral holders can cut in either direction.
M series holders are good general-purpose holders. They are best for roughing cuts but can also perform medium and finishing cuts.
D series holders have a wedge-style clamping system that provides an extremely rigid hold for reduced chatter and extended tool life. These holders are best for medium cuts but can also perform roughing and finishing operations.
Holders with an offset shank are good for reaching into tight corners and when working close to the chuck.

The rounded nose on these inserts contours the outside of the workpiece and cuts grooves with rounded edges. Pair an insert with a compatible shank-style holder. When the first cutting edge dulls, flip the insert to use the other edge, giving it twice the life of a standard grooving insert.
