Ideal for securing straps, the flat sides prevent bunching and slipping better than pear- or oval-shaped links. They're also good for making connections with multiple cables or ropes. Thread them closed by hand or with an open-end wrench. Make sure the nut completely covers the threads to handle the maximum weight capacity.
