Also known as Type II safety cans, these have two openings—one for filling, one for pouring. Safety cans are a safer choice than fuel cans for storing flammable liquids. They have a spring-loaded, self-closing lid; pressure-relief cap; flame arrester; and a vacuum-release valve for controlled pouring.
Color-coding typically indicates usage: red for gasoline, yellow for diesel, blue for kerosene, and green for other liquids.

Carry and store petroleum-based liquids in these sturdy cans. Color-coding indicates usage: red for gasoline, yellow for diesel, and blue for kerosene.
The spout on Styles A and C automatically closes to prevent spills. Push the button to pour.
Flip the spout on Style B down for pouring and up for storage. Press the trigger to open a vent that allows smooth pouring without spills. It cannot be sold to California due to local regulatory limits on VOC (volatile organic compounds), or outside the United States due to product labeling requirements.

Style C have a filter that strains out dirt and water, a valve to switch between filling and draining, and a flame arrester to protect against outside ignition. Rotate the hand pump to dispense fuel. The pump hose has a grounding strap.
