Flexible Extra-High-Temperature Electrically Insulating Mica Sheets

Image of Product. Front orientation. Mica. Flexible Extra-High-Temperature Electrically Insulating Mica Sheets.
A silicone resin binder gives these sheets enough flexibility to be used as wrap-around electrical or thermal insulation. They're often used on electric vehicle batteries as liners and sleeving, or as gaskets in spots where plastics would melt from extreme heat. These sheets can withstand temperatures up to 1800° F for a few minutes, but if they stay above 1275° F for too long, they may turn to carbon and stop insulating. They meet UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance. Also known as phlogopite mica. Cut these sheets with scissors, die stamps, or punches.

Also called muscovite mica, this mica is an excellent electrical insulator that resists temperatures up to 930° F. It's often used as wrap-around insulation for circuit breakers and heating elements. Meets UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance.

    Electrically Insulating Mica Sheets

Image of Product. Front orientation. Mica. Electrically Insulating Mica Sheets.
Insulate electrical components in everything from toasters to circuit breakers. These sheets provide greater vibration resistance than ceramic and withstand higher temperatures than plastic. They can operate continuously at temperatures up to 930° F, but if they stay above that temperature for too long, they may turn to carbon and stop insulating. These sheets meet UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance. Also known as muscovite mica.
Semi-Rigid—These sheets bend like a playing card, so they provide some spring power. Cut them with scissors, punches, or die stamps.

    Extra-High-Temperature Electrically Insulating Mica Sheets

Image of Product. Front orientation. Mica. Extra-High-Temperature Electrically Insulating Mica Sheets.
Line furnaces in steel mills or cover components in aerospace engine bays. These sheets maintain electrical insulating properties and strength under extreme heat. They dissipate heat slowly and predictably for precise temperature control. Because they’re abrasion resistant, they’re ideal for extreme material handling components, such as the parts that guide blown glassware pieces as they leave red-hot molds. These sheets can withstand temperatures up to 1800° F for a few minutes, but if they stay above 1275° F for too long, they may turn to carbon and stop insulating. They meet UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance. Also known as phlogopite mica.

    Ultra-Electrically Insulating Clear Mica Sheets

Image of Product. Front orientation. Mica. Ultra-Electrically Insulating Clear Mica Sheets.
The best electrical insulator for temperatures above 900° F. Use these sheets to separate and shield components in everything from electronics to motors. Cut, stamp, or shear them into shapes such as washers, which can be used to mount diodes to a heat sink. These sheets can also be used as sight glasses, often called stove mica, for areas where plastic would melt or glass would shatter. Also known as muscovite mica.
Semi-Rigid—These sheets bend like a playing card, so you’ll get a little bit of spring power.
